If you want to say that he had some points that might have been worth considering, then fine. But he didn't have proof.

It was 'proof' enough for the international press to get involved.

For example - "Hey everybody, Elvis and Tupac are alive and I know exactly where they are". Now I just sit back and wait for the internet sh!t storm and subsequent media frenzy/worldwide press coverage to kick in....

I agree with very little of what Deano says. But, he is free to express his opinion like the rest of us. Andrew sets the rules...it's his Board. I just don't understand why some people come here (seemingly) just to get pissed off about something or another? If you don't enjoy yourself...then why come here? Deano’s like the drunk uncle at Christmas time. He’s a royal pain-in-the-ass who crosses the line about 50 times a day. But like it or not, he’s “family,” and we’re probably stuck with him for life, lol.
There are plenty of people who are “willing to speak up” against Deano. Andrew being one of them. But most of us that call him on his shit, don’t want him to stop posting.
For me it’s like being in or watching a wicked tennis match, lol. Sometimes between two year olds, and then Andrew sends Deano to stand in a corner, and all is well for about 5 min.
Again, this place is what it is. I happen to love it. But there are plenty of places to go if you don’t

I dont wanna rattle Andrew's cage here... its his party... and he will cry if he wants too! ... but the "apology" thread really was the last straw for me.

A genuine apology was hi jacked by "you know who".. ok.. the "shit heap" again... and really his language and attitude were really disgusting. Im on record as having no respect for Deano..who could really? Only someone with a warped, and "left-field" sense of whats right and wrong. Ive seen enough... most of us here know hes a dick-wad, with a foul mouth, and the odd worthwhile comment. But frankly, all the shit he causes isnt worth the "one " decent comment every so often.

I think Andrew should really get a grip of this guy.... but he hasnt done, and he never will, it seems. His record of misdemeanor's is as long as the longest arm... hes had "vacation after vacation" only to return with the same old crap. I humour him from time to time... but thats been my mistake... as it is the mistake of everyone here who does the same. Really... the guy should be voted off the board by secret poll or similar, as some wont have the balls to rattle him publicly.This is a forum... which means"the people" ,,and the people should claim it back.

I had been visiting the front page of this website for a couple of years before I even found out that there are message boards on here. I HAD always respected Andrew for being deticated to Melodic Rock/AOR. I even e-mailed Andrew a few times to give him some info that I had related to Survivor, and everything was fine.

However, after I foundout about the message boards I was disgusted to find that he will let Deanno do whatever the hell he wants on here no matter how abusive he is toward other members of the forum.

Andrew let Deanno spread his rumours about the band without any proof at all to backup his claims.

He has let Deanno verbally abuse anyone he wants to. He lets him use the most vulgar and immature language you can think of without any repurcusion what-so-ever.

After about 3 months of Deanno's constant abuse toward me and other members I finally sent Andrew a PM asking him to finally do something about Deanno's behavior toward me and the other members of the board, and instead Andrew sent me a PM telling me that if I don't like it I should just stop posting on the site.

I have NEVER seen another website on the internet that allows members to abuse the people who follow the rules, and then turns around and tells the decent people that if they don't like it they can leave.

I agree with you that it would appear that there aren't enough members who are willing to speak-up about Deanno's behavior. I have gotten many PM's from members who can't stand Deanno because of how he acts on here, and that they wonder why the hell Andrew hasn't baned him from the site. Unfortunatelly there are not enough people that are willing to speakup about it because if they do they will then get ganged-up on by Deanno's cult. Much the same as I'm sure I will be ganged-up on by them for this post.

Funny thing is that even though I do occasionally post on BT it's not very offten, I don't know much of anyone on the site, I have had my own disagreements with a couple of the moderators, and I have said that things can at times be a little Nazi-like on there. And yet I am always being accused by Deanno and a small handfull of others of being someone who was sent over here by someone from BT to argue. It's laughable!

Unfortunately I can't see Deano ever getting ousted from this board - he has too many fans and hero worshippers.

All I know is that the most enjoyable period I can remember here was a couple of months ago for about a week when Deano was sent on an enforced holiday by Andrew for a week (or at least a few days until Andrew caved in and let him back). During those few days there were more interesting threads than in a long while, and a much greater variety of posters contributing to them.

Then Deano came back and all the threads suddenly reverted to type - just a few of the same old posters (those that aren't intimidated, or indeed even seem turned on, by Mr Abuse) and all threads with very similar content taking a nosedive into a torrent of shouting, swearing and arguing until somebody gives in.

Those few days of peace convinced me that this place can be great but is being spoiled by the behaviour of a few.

I don't understand the argument that this site is great BECAUSE anybody can say anything here, when clearly they can't. The likes of Joe Reardon and others have been taken to task in the past so there must be a line somewhere. There just doesn't seem to be any consistency over who can cross it with impunity.

After perusing this thread, I have two thoughts:

One is a solution of sorts for anyone who doesn't want to read anyone else's posts. Ask Andrew to get an "ignore" function here like many other forums have. Then the members who want to can put X person on their ignore list, and that person's posts won't show up when reading a thread. (The only downside is sometimes other people's replies come across odd without knowing what they're replying to.) It's a simple solution really, and entirely voluntary.

Two is all the talk about BTers "invading" MR. Did anyone ever think that maybe the people coming here from BT are doing so because they're just tired of the place? No news on Augeri, too many deletions, bans, and heavy moderation, and zero speculation allowed. Andrew usually gets any news before the official site does anyway so why wouldn't they begin gravitating this way? Makes sense to me. (For the record, I'd never even heard of BT until I joined here, and I refuse to join there.)
