As someone who recently joined this site, my perspective is probably a bit different. I've been posting at BT for over 5 years, and I for one, hope this place NEVER turns into BT. I must admit the first time I read some of Deano's postings, I thought to myself..."Whoa...this is a whole new world over here". I can't say that I agree with all of the man's language, but, I'd be lying if I said I didn't find the guy amusing (the personal insults, aside).

I think the reason you probably see the migration of a lot of people from BT is that most of us get tired of the same old Augeri yahoos talking about how great Augeri's "wiggle" is. Honestly, it's nauseating! Also, you are free to say nothing on the BT site without having your post deleted or getting some nasty email from the Journey police (i.e. moderators). Sometimes I think the mods on BT have a secret competition to see which one of them can lock the most threads for the most mindless reasons. Honestly, I find it refreshing to come to a site that allows people to honestly express their opinions. Whether or not you agree with one's opinion is irrelevant. At least this site allows for discussion.

The fact that JSS posts here more than he does on the band's official website and that this site has the "offical" statements about the band before "the official site" does tells me that Andrew must be doing something right with this site. I don't think you're going to see Deano banned any time soon and I wouldn't even vote for the guy to be banned. Sure, his language is colorful, and even offensive to a lot of people. Hell, I think that's really the guy's point! That said, behind all the colorful language, he still isn't afraid to speak his mind and probably wouldn't lose too many debates with most people he "takes on".

He is passionate - can't fault the guy for that. Yeah, he gets downright raunchy sometimes and his personal attacks can be brutal - but who cares? This forum is not required reading. I say, just don't read his posts if you can't handle them. This is Andrew's forum and he handles shit just fine. Deano's posts are what keep a lot of people coming back here, myself included. When he drops out of sight, this board almost grinds to a halt.
