Two of my all-time favs.
Hope they find their way into a setlist shortly.

You know what? It's pretty cool that Perry fans dig JSS. Maybe there's hope for us all yet?

oh man! i hope they add rubicon to the set list. something about that song gets me really pumped up! }:C) maybe they can drop open arms & who's crying now & add some heavier soft songs? like troubled child! i am telling you jeff you would OWN this song! i wonder if steve perry is sneaking in to any shows or watching clips online? he has to be curious! i bet he would really love what he sees in jss. i'm hoping that soon sp takes neal up on his offer to join journey anytime... just once would make a lot of people VERY happy. i really feel that the time is coming. a girl can dream right? listening to sp talk about journey... you can tell there's a love there... like the song says... brothers till the end.

sorry... i read laura's book over the weekend... feeling very... melancholy. }:C)

thanks nealisgod for the clips! }=C))

You like to dream, don't you? There isn't any room for Mr. Perry anylonger. He waited too long to respond.

I will post a monster story/review tonight. You people have NO idea what this band is going to do. Unbelievable.

About damn time! :D

Can't wait! And I really think you're right about this lineup. They could really do something big. On top of everything else, JSS seems to have it all. He’s a great singer, phenomenal frontman, cool as hell, incredibly sexy, great to the fans, and he’s great to talk to, which will make for great interviews.
Can't wait for more from this lineup.

I think we can predict with a good deal of certainty that a new DVD would be headed our way.
For some reason, Neal Schon has an insuppresable raging hard-on for dvds.
At one point he contemplated just releasing dvds from here on out (no more audio cds).

Both Warfield and Dallas were professionally filmed, but never released.
Though Augeri was probably not the sole factor for this, I do believe he was a factor.
With him now gone, I imagine a new dvd will be fast tracked.

Ok, I think I'm sufficiently rested now. I'll start with the setlist and then weigh in later on how the whole weekend went.

Setlists were the same in both Atlantic City and Boston.

SSB
Stone in Love
Ask the Lonely
Wheel in the Sky
Keep on Runnin'
Edge of the Blade
Who's Cryin Now
Chain Reaction
Lights
Open Arms
Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'
Escape
Dead or Alive
Faithfully
Any Way You Want It
Separate Ways

I could be a little bit off, but I think that is pretty accurate. As mentioned previously we got a few different ones during the soundcheck in AC.

Originally I was only going to attend the AC show and head home with Niggy on Saturday morning. After some prodding by Deano and my wife telling me on the phone that I'd be crazy not to go, I found myself on an Amtrak bound for Boston. 8)

I think I'll leave the detailed description of the weekend to Deano, since he was the one responsible for a lot of what went on. I'll throw out a public thanks to him and the band (especially JSS) for being so good to all of us. Both nights were great and the post show activities in Boston were off the charts. Also thanks to Niggy for the stellar job he did with the digital camera and the amazing photos from AC.

good care of them.

Who's Crying Now is a must play. A timeless classic - everyone knows the words and can probably hum along to the solo note for note. I dont care much for Open Arms but I'd bet many ladies would leave extremely dissapointed if they dropped these two songs.

IMO they should drop Edge Of The Blade, Don't Stop Runnin' and Dead Or Alive...

...and add IBAWY, After The Fall and Message Of Love.

Bam - perfect Journey show.

Edge of the Blade was performed incredibly. That song was the highlight for me on both nights. It really makes Journey sound like a heavier monster. Journey sounds lean and mean and the harder edged material is part of that.

Besides we got to hear IBAWY, ATF and MOL in soundcheck anyway.

Shit..I'll admit openly I am a HUGE SA fan, but if I'm being honest, that review almost makes me sorry I missed them in AC this weekend with JSS. I have heard the boots and he does not sound good on them, is it really that much better "live"?

I'm really trying to embrace JSS here folks...............................

Despite sounding decent and having a funky multitiered stage set, Def Leppard couldn’t match Journey’s satisfying professionalism and crowd-pleasing energy, thus separating the men from the boys.

No kidding. I told a bunch of Lippard fans, "why are you staying? The show is over." I got the finger from some, but I was right.
