JOURNEY TO UK & NEAL's GREAT IDEA

Postby yogi » Wed Sep 27, 2006 12:25 am

As reported on Journey The Band.com and here Journey will end their Def Leppard double bill and go on a headlining tour starting in the UK in the spring of 2007. When Journey returns to the U.S. in late July of 2007 Neal Schon vows to put Journey back in the forefront of rock and roll with a U.S. tour the likes of something that no one has ever seen before.

" Our fans deserve the absolute best states Schon". We have been touring non stop since 1998 with pretty close to the same Journey lineup that you see now". We want to give back to our loyal fans and we will prove that to them with our '2007 Meet The Band Tour'.

"We have invested over 2 million dollars in a state of the art Bose Stadium Stereo System that will bring our fans crystal clear Journey sound that no band anywhere at anytime has ever delivered". "What we plan on doing is breaking our concerts up into segments where Journey music is playing while we entertain our fans will different activities". We know how fans want to meet their music idols and this way instead of meeting just a few after the show we can meet hundreds maybe thousands during the actual show". "My idea may revolutionize the way all bands do concerts in the future". " Face it, the public wants good sound and a great show this way we can give them the best possible sound and a great diverse show."

" The show segments will include Intro songs maybe a group of four songs such as Magestic, Too Late, Seperate Ways, Walks Like A Lady, Ill Be Alright Without You, while the intro songs are playing we(the band) will be in the audience meeting as many fans as possible".

"Then we will get into the meat and potatoes of our set. 10 -16 songs blarring, but with crystal clear clarity. While this is going on fans will be chosen at random to work out ( exercise) with members of the band. I would do the AB Lounge with 10 or so fans, Jon would be on the Gazzell Elite with 10 other randomly chosen fans. We would also have some stationary bikes, jump ropes, free weights, stair steppers etc. It would be a regular 'club med' Journey experience"

"We then are knocking around the idea of a board game concert section. Avalanche, Battle Ship, Box Hockey, Battling Tops, Stretego and others are some games we feel our fans would love."

"We are kicking around so many great concert ideas(cooking with Deen, typing classes, flash cards) all addressed to enhance our great fans experience of the band." We know and realize that its time we give back to what we feel are the greatest fans in the world. Stay here(journeytheband.com) Journey fans I will be posting more later. This will be one concert experience none of you will ever forget'.

Yogi has always had an offbeat sense of humor. This would be a work of fiction. Nothing more.

I am sure NOT one to speak for Neal or any other member of a famous rock and roll band, hell, I cant read music or play any type of musical insturment. But I think his idea borders on brilliance. Not to put words in his mouth but here is what he has got to be thinking.

Shit our fans accepted maybe even embraced that large portions of our shows are taped. They Know we did this to sound better for them. Shit, why not just tape the entire event and let them hear it on a system so awesome they will surely want to come back. Add to this the chance to meet the band and do fun things with them while our GREAT music plays as a back drop. Our fans will love this.

I for one kind of like the idea.

I would love to hammer a nail with Neal. Maybe saw something. Or maybe break out my old hockey skates and get to take em to a Journey show hoping they may draw my name where I can sharpen them along side Ross's skates.

Journey wading pools would be fun too. Just a few hundred of those little plastic ones spread out over the arena.

If I took a photo of myself while I read that, it would have looked something like this..
Please, just some REAL singing and playing is all this fan really needs. Giving back to the fans in some major way is a great idea, though, considering how many have stuck with them through tape-gate. I'm thinkin' aerobics with the band ain't it, though!
