Already been done.

We are riding on our rainbow, it's nearly at an end,
it was given as a promise to each and every man,
it's a long time since we started and the days left now are few,
it seems the words sent long ago were true.

Life goes on forever, but it changes like the tide,
there's a meaning for existence, no need to run and hide,
we are fighting for our freedom, we are searching for a way,
and we live in hope of some eternal day.

We are waiting, we're impatient, we're unfaithful, we are true,
there's a lesson in the learning of the different things we do,
as it was in the beginning, it shall be in the end,
we will come full circle to begin again.

Search your heart before you die, is the cost way too high,
to explain all the tears we have caused throughout the years,
when everything is finished and we've done all that we can,
will we come full circle to begin again ?

Then again, they could break free totally and go with something like this:

W.H.I.L. (pronounced WHILE, for Won't Hear It Live)

Songs could include:
• Heartbreak
• What?
• Round and Round
• Same Ol' Same Ol'
• Paydirt
• It's a Pity
• Shame on Them
• Count the Money...Honey!
• Huh?
• Neal Solo
• Jonathan Solo
• Neal Solo
• On Our Way (Out)

...and so on and so forth....

Okay Fred, this has got to be one of the best posts I've ever read. (Won't hear it live) That's classic.
But maybe instead of "Count the Money...Honey!" maybe something like "How I Spent Your Money (ode to the fools in the front row) Might be a better track.

Wow! You're good, Fred.

I think that they should redo the title song with Neal doing his midnight train from DSB and call it "Swallow That Load" Let's think re-invent here with lots of input from the new guy. 8)

A few thoughts : "Radio-Active", "Perspectives", and my favorite "Synergy" (Could be written as Sinergy for more of a rock effect.)

Also liked the Phoenix idea someone mentioned earlier[/i]

Hey, hey, hey! I was one of those "fools" in the front row one time with my son. :D Actually, that was a pretty decent concert with Peter Frampton. :)

I'd like to point out that my comments should NOT be taken as if I'm holding a grudge against Journey. I'm am not harboring a grudge at all. They can do whatever they feel is best for themselves and I'll do the same. :D

Okay, I'm up for that.

Speaking of which, there was ONE song on the Soul SirkUS CD where a song and JSS's singing sounded like Perry. In fact, I remember JSS commenting on it that it was almost like he was channeling Perry. If they can do that type of music on a new CD, then they might have a chance for another round of success. Of course, they'd have to be willing to actually PLAY it in concert too.

As good as TBF was, because they couldn't tour on it, it nose-dived.

Even though Perry and Smitty only planned on touring a couple of nights a week on that album, Perry would have had to be a masochist to sing songs like One More or Castles Burning more than once a week, imo. I'm just thankful that he got it to us the one time. Great, great effort and perfection in emotions.

It's Phoenix
and if Journey doesn;t want it I:ll take it
but it's the next link
It's tied to egyptian roots
It;s the firebird invincible
wounded but
rising from the dark
out of the ashes
soaring onto a greater journey

Just a couple of things.
1- I've renamed Deano---Dean is god -better known as DIG !!! :D He knows alot when it comes to the band. everyone should believe him.

2- Someone said that they ( the band) can't announce at a concert that they have new material for the fans. Hell- isn't that exactly what SP did on Houston DVD???

3- Seems like some of u don't like the power ballads--well there have always been ballads-go back 40 years. Sinatra, Johnny Mathias, Elvis Presley, etc etc. There will always be lovers that want to hear those kinds of songs and there will always be a market for them. Especially women and girls! :) maybe even some guys.

4-I loved TBF! :)

1. Granny, Deano strokes his own ego enuff, do you really need to add to the madness? But I'm with ya, I think Dean knows just enuff to remain sincere in what he's saying/predicting.

2. Even Deen (Castranovo not our Deano) said at a M&G in July that, right now for this tour, they have to stick with "The Hits" because the little-known stuff sends folks to the Beer Tents. Now that was in July. With Jeff's energy and the way he has been 'capturing' audiences, I bet they could, if they wanted to, slip in 1-2 cuts from Generations and Arrival mid-way thru the set and people would stay on their feet.

3. Journey are the GodFathers of the R&R Power Ballad and I hope they continue to have at least 2 on anything they put out.

4. Your in your sixties now, right? Shame on you for smokin' crack in your Fifties... A drug-indused coma would probably make listening to TBF tolerable... But that's only my sorry ass opinion!
You know I love ya, Granny
