I just can't comprehend that Augeri controlled the band for 8 years. The Mighty Azoff's hands were tied because Mr Humble & Gracious (who couldn't deliver the goods) kept the band from moving on. What kind of contracts would have prevented them from dumping his ass overboard and moving forward? And I know it's been said that Soul Sirkus wasn't allowed to succeed....Again, I just can't understand what powerful force would have stood in the way of making someone money?

You're wrong. Jeff is a good looking guy. Well spoken and very smart.

Journey Mgt will be involved. A good duet song, moderate to rock with this person will be huge. The timing has to be right though. My guess is Journey will play the instruments. This will be fun to watch. This is my last tease.

I'm guessing Sheryl Crow!

The mighty Azoff
should let all contracts pass through a lawyers hands for approval
Perry earned his tenure
but after the fact
I would have hired a singer as an independent contractor.
A voice for hire
No strings attached

leave it

Don't quite understand that one myself. Can't see this whole thing falling on Augeri.....if he was lipping they were all in on it. Augeri didn't hold the reins and control in this group, if anybody does it is Neal......and we all know who the tour hog is. If anything IMO Neal would have pushed to tour whether Augeri could sing or not and thats where the lipping came in. I mean it IS a business......if he couldn't sing as long as 2 years ago I don't know why they wouldn't have canned his ass and brought in someone instead of dragging it out.

They can play the outdoor venues and do about 10-12,000 on their own at this point most nights. (Which is good) Package tours they do great. They're the band I that I grew up on, but they aren't a band now, they are a "brand".

Check this out:

6/22/75
Charleston, WV

Kiss
Montrose
Journey

Attendence 8,348

The early incarnation of Journey played 5 shows with Kiss in 1975 (useless trivia)

Specificaly, what do you mean by "knowledge of the band"?

As for 'intellect', I have enough to more then get by in life. I don't need the brain the size of a planet. A small moon is nice enough.

He hasn't displayed much 'writing ability', IMO...No where NEAR enough for me to be jealous about. I'll put it this way - I doubt he'll ever be published. I can write when I want to, and I know I can be OK when I put the effort in it. Haven't been published...looked into it though, but haven't followed thorugh.

Agreed... with Soto they are Journey, but they will get the "What happened to Perry" questions all over again. The majority of listeners want DSB or nothing and I would bet money on that statement. And once they hear Perry now they will still be unhappy because he doesn't sound like DSB-Perry. It's a catch-22, people.

I don't understand this either.

Deano - you've been totally against Azoff for ages - and rightly so in my opinion - but suddenly he's a good guy and it was Steve Augeri who prevented him from successfully managing the band?

Can you elaborate on this?

THANK YOU for saying this!! I cannot see how Augeri was allegedly able to have management in the palm of his hand, and keeping the band from becoming better... without anyone having the power to fire him. I also cannot fathom Augeri proposing this year's tour - maybe he insisted that he stay on board by lipping, but I do agree the "old" guys were probably the driving force into this tour.

I just don't understand why they didn't fire him before this tour if everyone is supposedly so glad to be rid of him now.
