No to all of the above. You are 100% correct. I point again to why: the audience. They're playing to the wrong audience. I've yet to read anyone make this point other than myself and I'm stunned. It seems so clear to me and I know my vision is no better than anyone else's.

JOURNEY has to reach out to a younger audience. Thery're drying up and blowing away as we speak and nobody cares.

This show premiered last night. I thought its was excellent. Can't wait to see more! It's staying true to the original Colombian version. Great tones, genuine acting and comedy that borders on slapstick but never goes over the edge.

In this episode Betty was the secret brains behind a sales pitch that helped save face with her advertising company. She used demographic and age stats to secure the client.

This is what I'm talking about in regards to this idea. The buying power has always come from the kids. The kids today aren't interested in buying another JOURNEY album filled with sappy ballads or lightning rockers. They want diversity. They want to listen to something that takes them here, there, and everywhere. A Latin rhythm album can do just that. There's certainly enough young fans of the genre who will eat it up faster than they'll be able to keep it on the store shelves.

3 years ago Neal talked about exploring this. The landscape now is wide open for them.

Dude, your train of thought is very hard to follow. How does Ugly Betty tie in with young people's buying power, and then to a Latin Journey album? :?

Oh, yeah? Well, my dad can beat up your dad!

I'm not engineering anything. I'm supporting something that Neal has voiced an interest in doing. The poll was intended to be fun and not an end-all. How many total people participated? Not even a fraction of users here. Not even a fraction of JOURNEY fans. If the poll was reversed it wouldn't mean much, either.

I have it in perspective.

Quite honestly your obsession with this is bordering on creepy....ive been following this since 2003 or 2004 (wasnt a member here) and if you took all the times you have brought this up, and all the opinions you've gotten they are identical....you are obsessed with it, Journey fans as a majority dont like it. I wouldn't mind a few songs here or there, but i really dont like straight-up latin music at all for the most part, and if my favorite band made an album and I hated 90% of it, i would not be happy...

I CLEARLY did it for fun. The answers weren't crafted to produce any useable data. You didn't think the salsa one was at least a little funny?

I'm happy that people paid attention to it at all.

Now if I could just sell you a ticket...

Aren't the majority of people that participate on forums obsessed with something or other? I'm not obsessed by this idea however even if I were how would I be any more creepy than your obsession with Journey?

If Journey made it I'd venture to bet that you'd LOVE it because it would NOT be "straight-up latin music."

Speaking of obsessions: NealIsGod may be just a bit to the extreme.

Not really. I understand the devotion - regardless of how "creepy" it is.

For the record, in 03, Journey did a Santana set in their show in NJ that went over like a lead balloon. Bongo player on stage and everything. Last thing I saw before a beer break.

LOL! I was NEVER welcome here to begin with! Who is?

I'm not saying that you're creepy, either. I was saying...nevermind...

Dang - that midnight train that you're waiting for is slow!

For the record I like most of what you post despite your sick and twisted obsession with Neal being God.

For the bigger record: ANYTHING they play beyond the "Dirty Dozen" tends to send people for beer. If you'd been paying attention to Journey interviews you'd know that as they've commented numerous times about how unwilling the fans are to listen to anything but.

I wonder why it is that the setlists have now been reduced to almost nothing but...?

It's because the fans are CHOKING the life out of Journey.

Nobody gets it.

For another record: the set they did in Florida '03 with Gibby Ross went over quite well.

AGAIN: I did the poll for fun and NOT to confirm any perceived obsession.

You don't need to do a poll about Neal. You already know we'd all agree that he's God - well, at least pretty close. Maybe "Gosh."

There you go. Change your name to NealIsGosh and the charges of being an obsessed heretic will be dropped. If not I will hound you relentlessly until you breakdown and bring in a replacement...er...sorry - those are the tactics of truly obsessive people.

Fyre I think you are really onto something here. I think a Latin rhythm-flavored JOURNEY album is a really fresh idea. With the Latino population ever increasing in the states and Neal's history with Santana this is a logical progression in their JOURNEY as a band.

LMAO... Fyre you've been peddling this latin-Journey thing since the old Journey boards... and no one is buying it...

Don't you think if Neal was interested he'd have pushed Journey in that direction BY NOW???
