Perry and Schon proved there was no one better. Journey, at the top....

I was playing this last night along with the Houston DVD. Definitely one of the most underrated Journey songs.

Very true, I'd put that performance up against anything then or now. :)

It's definitely not underrated with the hardcore fans like us. Great tune. Actually reminds me of another great one that most of us love, "Winds of March".

I was just thinking that if you're going to say you're melting like that, probably comparing yourself to the Wicked Witch melting is not a good analogy.

If someone who never heard Journey asked me to play a song for them that was most representative of the bands style, Mother, Father would be the song I would play for them. Powerful, thoughtful, melodic, beautiful.

Don't care if I ever hear the song again in it's ESC4P3 format, but the Houston dvd performance is a tour de force.

You know me and you know the rules with which I govern my favorite picking amongst songs.
Now answer your own question.

Sorry.

Ballads are horrible, just horrible IMO.

No time for them.

Especially the power variety.

Hell Yeah, the guitar solo is awesome. I am trying to learn it but it is a little hard for me. The harder the more badass the solo is though in most cases.

Yeah, the first solo is cake, but the second one is hard. I don't play it perfect, just close enough to make me happy. :)
