They (The Band) don't close BT because it is a site that releases tour schedules and sells SWAG. They leave the Message Boards open because there are a handful, of fans who support them so why upset the apple cart? The Mods do it for free, so no harm in allowing it to remain.

As anyone who knows me will testify I don't often get pissy - I leave that to those who don't have any self control. Now who might that be? Anybody care to raise their hands?

It has never been any secret that my wife is a moderator on BT, but that as never influenced any of my posts here or there. I don't always agree with all the decisions and moderating on BT but, having seen some of the crap that happens behind the scenes I have to say that much of that moderating is justified.

In this instance I was merely commenting on the irony of the fact that all the serious debate about this topic was taking place over there, while you can't get over yourself and get past the name calling.

You are a tireless apologist for BT and the Journey organisation - which is baffling - because you are an intelligent and articulate guy and must therefore know that this organisation is not beyond criticism.

So what motivates you to give the organisation such a consistently positive spin regardless of what it going on at a particular time? Do you genuinely think that Journey, the management and the official site are right almost all of the time? Or have they rewarded you for being 'on message' by providing free tickets, backstage passes, meet and greets, signed CDs and so on?

Or are you just a nicer person than the rest of us?

What IS the truth? I want to know your version.

Deano himself has said that Neal wanted Steve gone for some time. Steve became ill at the beginning of the year, never fully recovered, and Viola' An opportunity was seized to oust Steve from the band. I do not believe Tapegate, enhancements, yes, every band does it, but not full on lipping. What better way to get him out than under the veil of controversy and who better to do it than Deano, who time and time again has proven himself to be the most aggressive and a tad manic one on these boards.

Just for clarification.... I have never had free tickets or free memorabilia from the band or BT. I have been fortunate to get M&Gs occasionally, but where this has happened I believe they have been earned on merit.

To give you an example, when Journey came to the UK we had a chance meeting with Ross in a bar in Edinburgh - we had a friend from the States with us who he recognised and he came over to speak to us. He later brought back Steve and Jonathan who were interested in the charities we had raised money for during the UK Journey conventions we helped organise. Steve personally arranged M&Gs for us, despite the fact there were NO official M&Gs at the UK shows, and Jonathan, a keen photographer himself, organised a photo pass for me.

When we came out for some US shows last month we were again fortunate to meet the band. This time it was through JSS, for whom I have taken photos in the past (on solo and Soul SirkUS tours) and it was for the express purpose of taking more photos of him with Journey.

There is no suggestion of perks or incentives being handed out by the Journey organisation because of my wife's (unpaid) work as a moderator on BT.

As to your other suggestion, I don't think the Journey organisation are right all the time. I am on record as saying I think they have handled the situation with Steve very badly. But I do think that the singling out of Steve for sole criticism is unjust. If there was a tapegate (and I still don't think the evidence is absolute - there is a LOT of circumstantial evidence, sure, but not enough that would prove the case beyond all doubt in courtroom) then I believe the WHOLE band and management must be culpable. But here, the blame seems to be reserved entirely for one person and in my opinion that is wrong.

And when it comes to BT, I defend it because the criticisms directed at it - almost exclusively from this site, because nobody else seems to have a problem with it - are disproportionately vitriolic. Hey I'm a Brit, and the Brits defend the underdog - its built into our psyche. You should know that.
