I think that is sooooooo untrue! I work in the entertainment business and I see young people coming to classic rock shows. Lots of young people and they all know the words to the songs! I love seeing it! I know teens that listen to classic more than their generations, they tell me it's better! yeah, I would have to agree!

With as old as Sly is getting, he needs to find a way to connect to a younger crowd. Old music (or old "style" music) will not do it to the extent "Hollywood" would look for. I agree that "our" music would fit better...and it might even sell better because of that fit. It also is a proven fact that "classic" rock is in an upswing. But the conflict is that we "older" fans want new music by our favorite older bands while the younger crowd that DOES accept classic rock ONLY accepts the classic side of it. They want the songs they were raised on by their parents. they want the stuff that everyone lists as influences. They want the legend stuff. Meanwhile, the bulk of the money-spending audience still wants to hear the crap that gets played on the radio...

Then sly should call Nickelback. I'm telling you RAP may be popular in some circles but look at the billboard 200. Rap albums aren't the big sellers!!!!! Sly already has a "hip" artist. Natasha Bedingfield. And by the way Survivor wasn't particulary hip in 1981. They were an up and coming band. I'm just saying like Rocky, don't count Survivor out.
