In terms of the internet, those 4 were never fan friendly to the level that Jeff is.

That's not B/c they're a bunch of Aholes. Schon/Cain had gotten SINGED on their own damn message boards, especially Neal more than once so they swore off this e-world.
Blame them for that?

You're both wrong.
There's 3 stories.

1)Neal and Augeri had a mutual friend. This friend prepared a demo-tape of Steve's work and gave it to Neal. Steve didn't make one himself because he is an admitted underachiever.

2) Jon's wife had the "Tall Stories" album lying around and nudged Jon about the guy singing on the disk. This is what Jon recounted on VH1's BTM.

3) Neal also claims to have heard "Wild on the Run" on the radio in the early 90's and took note of the singer in case someday he needed to move on without Perry.

These three are correct except for Neal noting the singer's name.

I roll w/ TNC on this one. I heard he made at least a mental note to figure out who the singer of the TS song on the radio was....then those years later they had the mutual buddy which cemented the meeting.

Neal handled himself fine. He told some irate Perrynutbag to "go have a drink..better make it a stiff one."
I don't know why that made him shy away from the internet.
Jeff continues to take people to task on here all the time.

No meatditch licking here, but, I would say it's a push between Neal and Perry in his prime. Perry took a back seat to NOBODY in his prime with Journey and I can tell you that for me personally, I've never once bought Journey music to listen to Neal jam on the guitar (even though I think Neal is as good as anyone!)
