Well, in my opinion, it depends on the style of music you're looking for since Jeff's CDs vary.

My personal favorite is 'Lost in the Translation'. It's got a risque edge to it that really rocks. Believe In Me, the opening track, as a Journey sound to it, as it should.....Neal Schon is on guitars! The rest of it is crunchy, but you can still hear the underlying JSS funk. Prism is also a great solo CD by Jeff, with a less crunch. If you by these, you'll know what I mean. If you're more into ballads, then his Essential Ballads CD is for you. There are also three previously unreleased tracks on this album.

Eyes, as spoke of earlier, is definitely 80's style rock. When you get the CD, and see Jeff's picture on the back, with his hair, you will recognize the era. haha! (Sorry, Jeff, but you know it's true my friend. But never fear, I was probably rockin' a mullet at that time.) Wired 4 Love has a groovy chorus line, and the bass line during this song is simple, yet catchy. Calling All Girls is a great tune too.

If you can hold out for Talisman's new CD called "7", I think you will really like it. I think it is one of the best Talisman CDs ever. From what I hear, I'm not the only one that feels this way. Many of us differ on what we feel is our favorite track of the CD. In my opinion, that's the mark of a great CD as it appeals to many different tastes.

I would also recommend a CD that is seldom spoke of as a favorite, but I believe Humanimal (self titled) is a wonderful CD. Please be advised, this is not Humanimal by Talisman. I highly recommend this CD. (In fact, I think I'll spin it right now.)

For a complete list of Jeff's recordings, visit his website at http://www.jeffscottsoto.com.

Oh yes, and I forgout about Soul Sirkus "World Play". There are two versions. One is the Warner Bros release, the other through Frontiers. Warner Bros has a black cover, and the Frontiers a yellow cover. I happen to like the Frontiers release better because I really enjoy the song 'Alive'; however, the Warner Bros. release has Deen Castronovo on it instead of Virgil Donati. I think Virgil does a great job on the Frontiers release too. In fact, I think the songs on the Frontiers release were re-recorded with Virgil on drums, correct me if I'm wrong.

The first song is very Red Hot Chili pepper-like...

Hmmm...I was just thinking earlier today that one was my least favorite by Talisman. There are some good tunes there, but it just seems like a collection of really good tunes and some demos.

How tastes can differ! :) What do you think of the samples of their last one '7'? It's in my top 3 as well!

Finally picked up Lost in Translation...WOW! What a cd...it totally rocks. I can't listen to it enough. Seriously this cd is the best I have purchased in at least three years. Amazing work, Jeff! But what is up with this "blank" track?!
