For real I recieved an email from VH1 about update on Steve Perry his release of his albums redone, and there was a spot to click on for upcoming tv appearances and that's what it said. Go there and check.

Perry didn't lose weight, tone up and get a tan for no reason. While I'm not sure if he will be on THIS particualr show, I'm quite confident we'll be seeing quite a bit of him in the coming months.

Maybe this means "Open Arms" will finally get the recognition it deserves :) This is the only Journey ballad I could see being worthy of this particular show.

Perry might take both categories...

Which of the following songs is the most Awesomely Bad Love Song for ‘Girly Men’?
Menudo - "Hold Me"
34%
Journey "Open Arms"
28%
Thompson Twins - "Hold Me Now"
24%
Genesis - "Hold on My Heart"
13%

Which of the following songs is the most Awesomely Bad Love Song about a girl?
Steve Perry - "Oh Sherry"
32%
UTFO - "Roxanne"
20%
Toto - "Rosanna"
16%
Kool & the Gang - "Joanna"
16%
Hall & Oates - "Sara Smile"
15%

Interesting list. "Oh Sherrie" NEVER bothered me half as much as Open Arms did. Also, I always enjoyed the song "Rosanna" by Toto. Shit, I'm starting to get a complex, here! For what it's worth, I hate all the rest of the songs on both lists!

Er... that's not how VH1 works and I'm sure the poll is dead by now. They count "appearances" as an artist being mentioned, spotlighted, or videos shown. Awesomely Bad Love Songs has been on before, and unless they re-filmed it or something, it's just D-list comedians talking about how Oh Sherrie sounds more like an abusive relationship than love. When I See You Smile is on the show too.

It may just be for the website, but there is definitely a poll on this page:

Mac, it only seems fair that you land a Perry interview when you're here. Shit, you're coming from halfway around the world. Try and get in touch with Perry's people. It's worth a shot. If that doesn't work e-mail Uncle Joe Benson. He's a friend of Perrys and one of the "good guys."

Believe me Ray, I know it's easier finding a four leaf clover in the desert than getting a Perry interview. Just meant that while he's here he might as well give it a try.

Count on It...

Uncle Joe Benson is slated for november... it won't appear on his site due to a special request.
