Rod Stewart On Leno

Postby Enigma869 » Mon Oct 09, 2006 12:16 pm

Did anyone see Rod Stewart on Jay Leno last Thursday night? He was singing Creedence's "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" (I guess Stewart can't do anything but covers, these days). In any event, I thought he was awful and really ruined what is a classic CCR song. I tried looking for the video of it but couldn't find it anywhere. In any event, this proves what I've always said...Some classic music should simply be left alone. I heard a "hip-hop" version of "Faithfully" one day, and almost drove my car into a tree!

Glad I missed it, it sounds terrible. If Stewart would go back and do his pre-76 shit I'd be teeth. His early solo stuff and his work with Faces kicked ass in my opinion.

Yep. His early stuff was smokin. His voice was suited perfectly to gritty, bluesy rock. Then he turned into a fag.

Another example of the music industry ruining a good thing. If feel so bad that CD sales are down. Maybe if they got rid of half the shit they pass off as talent they would have a clue.

At least he has dropped the standards. He has a new cd coming out called, Still the Same... Great Rock Classics of Our Time. He has said recently that he probably won't go back to making the music he did back in the 70's because it doesn't sell for his age demo now. The recent cd's he's put out HAVE, so he is going to stick with that formula. I, also would love to hear music like he made back in the 70's. Of course, I have to say the same about Elton John. He shit is sappy now too. :(
