I don't think that makes them 'clueless' at all. It just means they do not read this forum. I would think most of the rest of the world doesn't read it either.

So you're saying the only way they would know that Augeri isn't back is if they read this forum? :?: WTF?

Absolutely...they don't do press. This isn't front page news in Rolling Stone or something. Unless they are following forums like this one, they won't know.

What info did the sponsers get when Augeri left? Do YOU know?

Well, someone at their station must of known. Jeeze, if the two dummies don't want to read press, then they are idiots. And didn't they say Augeri is back? So there is some evidence that they know what the hell went on.......

I think it's pretty obvious that, Augeri won't be back, if he ever does come back, it will be next year. Soto has been the replacement for this tour. After all, Augeri did start the tour, why wouldn't they just start the tour with J.S.S in the first place if he was the new frontman. Hmmm something to think about. Pretty interesting though.
Yep, Augeri will be back... hold your breath... PLEASE!!!

I'm just saying Journeygal, if Neal and the band KNEW Augeri had throat problems, and feel he needed replaced, why would they start the tour with him?

Maybe if you ask Deano nicely he'll tell you.

Of course they knew that some temp dude was replacing Augeri. But, if even if they read daily 'press', how would they know if the temp dude was going to be at their local show? How often is the latest Journey news talked about in music rags these days? I bet it's not very often.

That's THEIR perspective. YOUR perspective is that JSS is the new guy, Augeri is out...and, blah, blah, blah. They don't know that...and the reality is that you don't KNOW that either. It's just a good guess.

So, if they are not paying attention to these forums...which I doubt they have time to do...why should they come to the conclusion that JSS is not just some temp dude?

Again, I'll ask, how were sponsors informed that Augeri was replaced? I think that's a valid question...and one that should be easy to answer for all the know-it-alls on this forum!

You are assuming that M&B should KNOW that JSS has replaced Augeri for all shows up to and including their show. I don't. I doubt that they knew. I doubt that they COULD know, unless they are reading this forum, or maybe BT.

I can only make an educated guess that sponsors have a contract with the venue/band or something and probably received a press release with regards to the lead vocalist change.

Well, that's a GUESS...

I really want to know what was actually said to them.

Assuming and having a personal opinion are two different things. I never said anything about M&B needing to know Jeff's role- other than for the shows their station is sponsoring. The band has PR to send out releases. As Sallie pointed out- they knew Augeri was out...

Why don't you call the station and ask what they have been told with regards to Journey, 1.800.955.KLOS  .

Have some damn balls KLOS! Do what you used to do! Promote the bands by playing CURRENT music by bands that are still out there! Why don't ya? It's incredible to me that classic rock stations even exist anymore!

"Hey! Let's play the same rotation we have been for the last 15 - 20 plus years."

"Ok, man! We're still selling advertisement time. Works for me!"

"Yeah, man! Who cares about the listeners, anyways?"

They do play newer stuff from classic rock bands. Higher Place was played all the time. They've played new new Styx, Bob Seger, etc. It's the only real rock -n- roll station in LA

I'm not sure how many people here actually heard what was said this morning, but for the most part, here is what happened. Mark and Brian asked a question which was is Steve back in the band. They did not know the answer to this. Usually when they ask questions like this, they are waiting for people to call in and answer it ( I guess nobody called ). Their newsperson announced a few minutes later that he is back in the band. She took the time to look it up on the internet. Maybe there is something out there that says he is back (right or wrong)

LOL

Indeed. The lightweight "morning team". We have the same here in Oz and none of them would know anything about what they play either....

They don't play music either. They have bumper music that is played when they come out commercials (waiting for stations across the western US to catch up). Sometimes they play bits of songs if they come up in general conversation.

Of course he's not back.

If he was then why would someone involved with the UK tour tell the folk over at the other site that it's definetely Jeff singing on it?

These DJs talk bollocks.

Now I agree with Lula on this. If the station the DJ's are on are sponsoring the shows......... then, damn it, they should know everything about who is playing and who isn't. Dumbfucks. :D

My guess is that they DO know exactly what is going on with Journey. It's childish and highly unprofessional. I've never heard their show, but they seem like two jackoffs. Actually, Lula, "dumbfucks" will work too.

They are idiots that don't even like Journey. Perry almost didn't even go to the Hollywood walk of fame star dedication because of the way they were making fun of his singing. They think they are the stars instead of just jocks who play the real stars music.
