Kind of a funny story actualy. Most of my family are big Journey fans. Esp. My cousin, brother, and myself. I remember the Journey's greatest hits LIVE CD came out. Only 2 of those were owned in town at the time, comming from my Brother, and Cousin. My brother is a big ball buster, so it seems when the most embarassing things happen at the moment, it's always in front of him. It never fails. Leading me up to this story.

On the Greatest hits live, While Perry is singing Don't Stop Believin', the line "He took the midnight train goin' anywhereeeee..." after he sung that line, he went over to NEAL and said... "Neeeaaaal..."

Well one night, my brother got a phone call, on the other line was this singing. It was someone singing Don't Stop Believin' and he could hear music in the backround. At first, he thought it was a prank, then he listenend closely and heard the "Neeeaaal"
So he started thinking, wait a minute that's the LIVE cd, and only Me and my cousin have it.

Historically, what happend was my cousin accidently called...out of all people...my brother on accident while driving in his truck to work, and was singing along to Journey and you how how people sing alone and you want noone to hear you (we all got caught once in awhile
  ) It went straight to his voicemail and that's all we had to hear, and we heard a big "NEEEAAAAALL" come out of nowhere. Hilarious stuff.

In the Cinci show, we all took a ride up and had a big group of people take a roadtrip for the concert. When you sang DSB, after you sung that line you followed it up with a big "NEEEALLLLL" afterwards. Classic. We all got a good kick out of it, and you also did it at the Pittsburgh show. For me, when I'm listening the song.. "NEEEALL" is part of the lyrics.

LOL, just thought I would tell that story and thought it was pretty cool you did that

Cheers.

Funny you say that, I hear the song the same way, as that 'Neal' is part of the lyrics now! I've heard it a coupla times now, people loving the nostalgia behind me doing that during that part of the song but ironically, it just comes out naturally like singing the next verse. Love the embarrassing moment though, classic! :)

What happened to the Steelers yesterday? Jesus, can we do it without Bettis or is it gonna be a rough season? Shit, bring back Mean Joe Greene, Franco Harris, Lynn Swann & Terry Bradshaw, ha ha, they got it done! Maybe that's too before your time, I was a kid when they ruled the Steelers in the 70's!

Our boys LOVE the Houston DVD. They grab anything they can use to hold as a guitar and jam away for the ENTIRE concert. They run around and shout out the lyrics. They do the "Neal" too and it's the funniest!

JOURNEY music is GREAT therapy. Our 5 year-old is autistic and he's tuned into JOURNEY. He plays the air guitar along with Neal and immitates his moves. He runs into the kitchen and grabs two wooden spoons from a drawer and beats on the sofa along with Steve Smith. The interesting thing about that is he recognizes that SS is using wood and so the spoons he grabs wooden spoons that are also identical. That may not seem like much but to me it's a recognition that he's not so much in his little world but is able to recognize the world around him. So much to say about his growth and how JOURNEY music is helping him.

Our 3 year-old and 18 month-old join in and make it a real fun time. It's an every day thing and hearing that "Neal" is just too funny.

I was thinking the same thing too Jeff- I think Jerome needs to visit the locker room sometime this week and kick a few arses around
Very disapointing Sunday night- and me there with both my "terrible towels" at the ready!

When your QB bounces his cranium off a windshield I wouldn't expect him to be alright in the noggin' for most the season. ha! The loss of Randle El and Bettis doesn't help either. Maybe.......man, don't get me started talking about football. I won't be able to shut up. ha! :)

If there is a Coach that can overcome the player losses, off field injuries and BS it's Bill C. I'm sure the Steelers will be strong at the end of the season.

I've been wondering where your hometown is Jeff. Might the Steelers thing be a hint? As a guy who watches every game on DirecTV every week...I can tell you what's wrong with the Steelers! Ben is simply playing AWFUL. We're more than a quarter way through the season and this guy still hasn't thrown a single TD pass. Everyone keeps bringing up the Bettis thing, but, the reality is that Bettis didn't play that much last season. Willie Parker carried the ball down the field, and Bettis carried it into the end zone from the 1 yard line! Perhaps, it's just his influence in the locker room they're missing? In any event, Chicago is winning it all this season! Any team with that defense (And now they even have an offense) won't be stopped. Your Steelers won't be making the playoffs this season! By the way...The "Neal" line in DSB is classic and when I listen to the studio track of DSB, I always feel like Perry forgot to put the line in there, so I'm definitely with you on "Neal" being part of the lyrics of that song!

Er, you forgot to say "Penn State's" Franco Harris, Jeff.

Agree with the thread, the Neal SP does on GHL should be there all the time. Classic.

Have noticed on the boots that JSS is going to the Neal call....

"Let's reform this thing.Let's go out and get some guys who want to work and go do it"--Neal Schon February, 2001

Perhaps it's because they won it all last year and the hunger is no longer there? Happens to most teams (Pats excluded, of course).

That's great, I love it, I actualy got a lot of boots of you doing it too. Keep up the great work!

But our Steelers. WOW. Who would of ever thought we'd be 1-3 after four games? This is truly sickening to watch. We simply cannot finish games. We were so dominant last year in the playoffs and to come out of the gates this year as Superbowl Champs and completly fold in 4 games is something I can't really pick up on. Not Steeler football. The Defense shows dominant at times, but get's handled simply at the wrong times, and basically can't get complimented by the offense. If the offense can put together 3-4 gooddrives a game the Defense could definatly put the game away. But they never had a chance to thus far. We'll be alright though, we have time to turn it around, and who could count out the Stillers after what they did last year when everyone thought we'd be down and out? We need to hold this thing together JSS and hold the faith brother! :D

As for the 70's. Man! I get jealous everytime I hear that. I have every tape possible of the Steelers back of the 70's era and watch them from time to time as well as DVD's. There's one guy you left out, and that's JACK LAMBERT. What an animal! We are diehards here in the 'Burgh, football first everything else second! You probably won't believe this, but my dad's first game was the Immaculate Reception when he was 15 and I adore the Ticket Stubb he has to prove it! It's really something great to have and cheerish the mems...All I have to say is HERE WE GO STILLERS!

Oh yah, are the band members fans too? I noticed CAIN had a Roethlisberger Jersey on, or did you make him wear it? lol. Cheers!

Big Steelers fan here too... Grew up in Cannonsburg Pa...

I think everyone is being too hard on Big Ben. Ok, he's thrown 9 INTS and no TDs.
But did you notice how much, or should I say "How little", protection he's been getting?
I should know his name because the ESPN crewq said it ALL NIGHT but SDs Nose Tackle, of all people, was in the back field every play.
Ben tries to scramble out of the pocket, there's somebody there waiting...
The offensive line hasn't been doing a stellar job either; Ben can't do much when he's not prtected an the running game is stalling.
I agree that the accident and surgery are still having effects, though. I bet he's only at about 80% recovery-wise but he's such a competitor, he'd never admit to it.
It's gonna be a long season but I think we can bounce back...
Hell, we ran off 15 in a row in 2004, why not 13 in a row this year? :)
Welcome to Terminus... You hungry?

H@kk, I agree. Everytime he drops into a 5-7 step drop, he simply cannot step up in the pocket, the pass protection is horrendous at this point. Ben is known to ellude (sp?) the rush and get out of the pocket and scramble and throw on the run. He has shown flashes of that, but the o-line is so bad that he's not even getting a chance to move around, which Ben does best, and gives the reciever chance to get open. We've lost 3 in a row in DECEMBER and recovered from it. No panic button yet, but room for concern. We'll be fine. Denver and the Pats helped us out last night and two weeks ago when the Pats stomped on Cinci! loved it...

Just a victim of being a SUUUCKKER  I always liked the guy. But still hold true to my beliefs that he has a TREMENDOUS voice..but not Journey. But if he is announced as the new lead, then I said in a post where he has charactoristics where I can deal and enjoy. Maybe you can find that and pull that out of a post! :D

boy he sure doesnt ,, i stayed quite during his stirring.. i wont any longer,, hes a bug , i really dont understand andrews reasoning not striking him out!!! once a loser , always one, there are good folks that sign on here that do not want to have to fight back, they are just pleasant good people that i call, at least , acquaintances, and for him to come on board to attack, degrade and belittle them is uncalled for... he will do it again... he tough because this is the stupid internet , thats why only!!!

The notion of "stirring things up" in a place where no one can see expressions, faces, body language, can't tell if anyone's bullshitting or not.
