"Place in Your Heart" and "Higher Place" don't exactly sound modern to me guys.

NIG is right, they are less cheesy, but to be honest I never liked Place In Your Heart, it sounded way to much like Ask The Lonely Part 2 when I first heard it. So yeah I think its a little dated also. Higher Place, eh, its alright, I never loved it, but it wasn't per se...I don't think it sounds half as dated as Place In Your Heart or Never Too Late.

You want talk about cheesy, read the lyrics for Signs Of Life...good god...now thats bad..
When its all boiled down and the days at an end, I'll give you no bullshit and I'll never pretend.

Not nearly as bad as "With Your Love."
Like HOTS has said it's "bad poetry" - lacks Perry's soul and conviction.

"Signs of Life" is a boisterous toe-tapper right off the Cain/Schon radio-friendly assembly line, one of Arrival's best.
It's so catchy u don't care about things like lyrics.

I love The Place In Your Heart.

Serious embarrassment earlier when I realised I'd been belting it out with my window open.

You are correct, I hate, hate, With Your Love, then again, I didn't like any of the ballads off of Arrival that whole middle of the cd I skip every time. TBF had the same problem, but there were still a couple of off that cd I can listen to.

Signs Of Life wasn't a bad song neccessarily, it was catchy, but not so catchy that I didn't catch the bad lyrics...lol...

Let me second that, as I've NEVER heard the combination of Neal's strat and Jon's whale work this well together. This is a top 3 song on Gens for me, but I think it would be amazing even as an instrumental....in fact I wish I could hear just the instrumental track one time.
