Glad to see some are getting a positive turnaround here, no one wants to be hated forever! Although some of the shit slinging sure has been a fun read, it really is time to get down & dirty & show the guys knew what they were doing in asking me to step up...if I knew I couldn't do it justice, believe me I would have said no, I don't wanna be responsible for cracking the stone you know!

Jeff, thanks for answering. From listening to the Detroit boot and then this one, you just keep getting better on the Journey material. And coming from a die-hard Perry fan......I'm lovin' it! :D

Dave, I checked over there and have no clue where to look. If someone can give me a direct link to the song, I'd appreciate it.

Fred, I looked too. Found a concert with Steve Perry that I went to back in 1995...but nothing on JSS or what hes done here in the last few days. I'll keep searching. Anybody that can help....please do!

Thanks Catherine. I tried sifting through stuff over there, but it looks Greek to me...

I wonder if Jeff even feels like he's "part of the band"???

I mean, geez, someone else gave them 10, 15, 20 years and never felt that way...
Jeff's had, what, 3 1/2 months... :D

"Crack the Stone"... That's too funny! Good one, Jeff!

He needs to endure the ritualistic hazing before he's given the opportunity to feel like he's part of the band. Only after carrying luggage, ordering takeout, and washing the skid marks out of the other guys' underwear can he be allowed that privilege.

That does bring up a good question, though...
Gonna start a new thread :)

What's so great about covering songs that someone else made hits and copying their adlibs? Next he'll be growing a cookie duster and shaving it off to video. What's next, the tails?

Many very good vocalists are already doing what JSS is doing, in the many tribute bands and a few are better than him.

If and when JSS makes his own kind of music, then he can talk, imo.

The US of A turned their collective nose's up to SS and he has a following in Europe. I don't care how many gig's he's had. He's covering old hits from a Classic Rock band and that doesn't mean he's anything but a good vocalist, at this stage and good at imatating the man.

No suprise. I've heard him sing, but it's still just covering other singers songs. SS was a joke, imo. A lot of noise.

Agreed HOTS!

It kind of seems like JSS is taking a cheap shot towards Perry with that "Cracking the Stone" remark.

I have way too much respect for the man to take a cheap shot at him...the line was to reiterate his words, & not do what someone else possibly might as long as I'm given the opportunity...using his words were the best way to describe it as I agree with him fully!

I try to be professional & cool here but in this case...dickhead, use your brain, SS didn't happen for more reasons than you need to or will ever know, without this knowledge, you can't call it failure, it was more like failure to launch & bad timing. Regarding Journey, I sing Journey songs the way they're expected to be heard, especially by diehard fans, people who are standing with their arms crossed watching to see if I can cut it & general fans who only know the dirty dozen. It's a package tour, both bands are expected to do the classics! If I did sang them any other way, even I know it would be a catastrophe. We have THOUSANDS of cheers & arms in the air EVERY night we've been playing, old hits or not, people are digging it....sit here & write your shit, it means fuck all compared to what I get to see every night on that stage.
