That stone has been broken all to pieces, but how about if you take some cement and make the pieces into a work of art, OK?

JSS wrote:I have way too much respect for the man to take a cheap shot at him...the line was to reiterate his words, & not do what someone else possibly might as long as I'm given the opportunity...using his words were the best way to describe it as I agree with him fully!

Hey Jeff, I was just messing with you, having some fun, not trying to start something. I knew what you were saying and I meant what I said as a positive metaphor for what my hopes are for you and Journey. Sorry if it was misunderstood in some way.

I'm sorry, but did you just wake up.....this isn't the first singing gig JSS has had. :?

................................................

The US of A turned their collective nose's up to SS and he has a following in Europe. I don't care how many gig's he's had. He's covering old hits from a Classic Rock band and that doesn't mean he's anything but a good vocalist, at this stage and good at imatating the man.

I try to be professional & cool here but in this case...dickhead, use your brain, SS didn't happen for more reasons than you need to or will ever know, without this knowledge, you can't call it failure, it was more like failure to launch & bad timing. Regarding Journey, I sing Journey songs the way they're expected to be heard, especially by diehard fans, people who are standing with their arms crossed watching to see if I can cut it & general fans who only know the dirty dozen. It's a package tour, both bands are expected to do the classics! If I did sang them any other way, even I know it would be a catastrophe. We have THOUSANDS of cheers & arms in the air EVERY night we've been playing, old hits or not, people are digging it....sit here & write your shit, it means fuck all compared to what I get to see every night on that stage. Cheers, JSS

Hey, heardonthestreet! I'd print this out, frame it and hang it on the wall. It'll probably be worth a lot of money one day. Especially if you get it autographed!

Same as he's always been around these parts. I think that "the real test" as you put it is now, covering the classics well putting his stamp on them and making believers.

You people spouted the same stuff about Augeri. Nice guy, making the material his own, and he's up on stage shouting that it's a new Journey and Neal's yelling, "Who needs Perry?"

Look Soto! I critiqued you as I saw it and am not alone in my thinking. You're having to resort to vulgar names shows me how professional you are.

I figure that you post here because you're a friend of Andrews and feel that everyone is going to bow to you and stroke your ego.

SS sucked, imo. Make all the excuse's you want.

Yep, b/c it was as true w/ Augeri as it is w/ JSS.
But when did Schon ever "shout out, 'Who needs Perry?'"

HOTS, while I agree with you that Perry is vocally irreplacable and I am not just talking about Journey........I really like what JSS is bringing to the table. The divorce is final and I feel that JSS does most of the Journey catalogue justice with an extra spark that has been missing for awhile. As for JSS being vulgar, Perry can be too........heard the guy swear back in May  . Does that make him any less professional, NO.....just human.

Also, I can't see JSS having to come here to get his ego stroked.......he's got 20,000 peeps strokin' it every night on tour. I'm not here to bow to or stroke anybody's ego......I just know what I like to hear/see and will comment on it. So if you see it as stroking Perry's....errrr(sorry, had a moment  ).....ego, or JSS's....fine.

You are entitled to your opinion just as anybody else....including Jeff. So if you want to slam him in a post.....he is fully entitled to defend himself.....just as any other poster would.

You know what?

Foreigner is one of my all time favorite bands.

Lou Gramm is up there with Perry, IMO.

I don't like the new singer.

I don't go on Foreigner boards to trash him or praise Lou Gramm.

Stepping off soapbox.

Great post NIG.....although I agree with not going on boards to trash them (if there is nothing you like on a board, what the hell are you doing on it  ), I don't see any prob with praising Gramm/Perry.....they are a part of Foreigner/Journey history.

.............................

How did I trash him? He has just shown that he can't take a critique on his vocals and performance.

All I'm saying is that at this stage, he is simply paying tribute to Perry with all the groundwork at his disposal.

I think I get what you're saying HOTS, until JSS "makes his own music" with Journey, and it be ''accepted" by the fans that attend the concerts , he really is just doing what Augeri did , just singing the songs that Perry, Schon, & Cain Co-wrote together & made famous first. The real test will be is when he can make "his own music" be recieved" by the Journey fans too.

As for JSS doing name calling towards a fan for giving her own opinion, Perry's been attacked & ridiculed, & called names, so very many, many times, I've NEVER heard Perry respond back to any of the fans in a rude way just because he didn't like what was being said about him.

Perry said "What the fuck are you looking at?" to Stu (RossValoryRocks) when he was only 11 or 12 years old and waiting for an autograph from him. Does that count?

How could he?
He deliberately doesn't surf the net or make himself accessible to his fans.

Way to inadvertently point out two of Jeff's strongest attributes, slow-eyed bitch.

NOPE it doesn't count! I don't know Stu(RVR), But JSS put it out here in writing for ALL to view. I don't see that as a smart move in the music business.

Perry said "What the fuck are you looking at?" to Stu (RossValoryRocks) when he was only 11 or 12 years old and waiting for an autograph from him. Does that count?

NOPE it doesn't count! I don't know Stu(RVR), But JSS put it out here in writing for ALL to view. I don't see that as a smart move in the music business.

I know Stu and have met him. He actually knows Ross and works with him occasionally on some computer issues. Anyway, it certainly DOES count. Perry cussed out a little kid just because he was looking at him and had the audacity to be waiting for an autograph. Stu said he was crushed. Journey was his all time favorite band and one of his idols totally trashed him.

How could he?
He deliberately doesn't surf the net or make himself accessible to his fans.

Way to inadvertently point out two of Jeff's strongest attributes, slow-eyed bitch.

And one of which you share with him, Noble?

Good on him.
Shows the guy will not stand idly by and allow a bunch of Perry-infatuated soccer moms drag his name thru the mud.

Rip up your back-editions of Teenbeat and grow the fuck up, niggling cunts.

I don't see that as a smart move in the music business.

And just who the fuck are you to dispense advice on the biz? or anything at all?

Give some tips on how to play a convincing retard this Halloween. Then maybe I'll listen.
