Perhaps a little more rocking Journey is on the way? I hope they can keep the signature sound while at the same time rockin' it up a notch or two. I bet they do!

Get ready! JSS is going to rock our world! :)

Truthfully, Cain's input is invaluable and can only excel Neal and JSS's chemistry.
As Perry said, he is the "maestro".

Agreed, I think Cain(Valory) will be the activator, so to speak, that fuses the Neal/JSS(Deeno) chemistry into the full-blown Journey magic we expect, in fact demand.

HOTSIE, you're spewing buffonery. :|

Augeri was always in good voice on the albums, and every single officially released to the airwaves was bemired in a heavy 80's-retro Journey funk (perhaps to the band's detriment).

"Higher Place" "Place in Your Heart" "Remember Me"...all of these sound like Journey, and that's not even the half of it. What about the modern-era songs NOT released to stations?

"Better Life" "Never Too Late" "Signs of Life" etc...these songs don't sound like Journey to you?

If you say no, u are lying.

I am tempted to believe that we'll have it by next year.

I'd say late spring/early summer. :-)

My thoughts exactly.
Then a summer tour with the new material.A Journey-only tour. 8)

I certainly hope so. The 90 minutes or however long they're getting now just isn't enough for me.

Honestly, Noble. I find those songs monotonous without the great hooks you expect from a Journey song. Nothing sets them apart and since the band won't even use them in concert, well............I think that some of Journey's preperry material was much better.

I agree on "A Better Life" though I do like the song. But the others? They ALL have great hooks and sound like classic Journey.

NIG is dead on.
If Perry was singing "Signs of Life" or "Place in Your Heart", you'd be spouting some infernal claptrap about the "Journey magic".

You're a dishonest old skank.

I agree. IMO Higher Place is as good as many of the classics we all love. "To Be Alive Again" has the sound also, maybe a little dated sounding, but definately the "Journey sound".

EXACTLY!

Higher Place, To Be Alive Again, Live and Breathe, We Will Meet Again...

If those songs were sung by Perry, HOTS and her loons would've fuckin creamed thier panties to thier chairs
and screamed to the high heavens like it was the second-coming of Christ!

But since it was someone else...

"monotonous crap"....

And I thought the Augeri fruitcakes were an idiotic lot...

I would have loved "Place In Your Heart" and "Signs of Life" had Perry sung them. But he didn't...and that's why - Schon's solos aside - the songs sounded like 'just another AOR band'.

Add me to the list of the Higher Place lovers.
I believe that song is much better than other Journey hits, with or without Perry doesn't matter.
The bridge is as classic Journey as it can get. Love it and love it again.
