I used to do that myself to a degree, but it gets old quickly.
So, what does that say about us? It obviously says that regardless of what people state, NO ONE LIKES TO PASS UP A GOOD ARGUMENT. In fact, I'd say that some here feel they are at their best when vociferously going head to head with someone who is on the opposite end of the spectrum as they are.
Let's say everyone here agreed on nearly everything here...then we would have a board that would eventually evaporate into nothing. I've seen it over and over and over with numerous other boards that aren't Journey related. After awhile, there's nothing that needs to be stated, so no one says anything.
Here's the point: in spite of the fact that some here pull out the same old worn out statements, like "This board is for Journey" or "This is a dead horse" or "Let it die" or whatever as their statement against the thread itself, or by the same token, types comments like "Perry is the best!" or "No one does it better" or whatever, chances are really good that without the OPPORTUNITY of being able to state those remarks, let's face it, EVERYONE here would be BORED.
Seems to me that an argument is what folks enjoy because it gives them the opportunity to try their hand at outdoing the other person in a battle of wits. That's all this is about. Nothing else. It's not about Journey, or JSS or Steve Perry. It's about the arguments that occur here and who can claim victory.
This is why when there was a Perry board, people went over there to lambaste Perry and the Perry people, and the same thing occurs here. It's the love of the fight that keeps many people in the game. The threads that aren't that antagonistic usually sink to the bottom pretty quickly. Personally, I've always enjoyed intelligent discourse and that applies here as well. I enjoy a good debate. It would actually be interesting (and probably wouldn't happen) to see a debatable thread occur without the character assasinations, the lambasting, the insults and all the rest. Who knows, but some people might actually have to use their brains to establish themselves as someone who actually thinks before responding, as opposed to simply vomiting their sentiments all over the board. I doubt some are capable though.

You make a good point, and yep, I am here because I am very good at debating, err, lambasting certain dicksnots.
I am going to let the cat of the bag for all to see.
I only argue if I think I'm right.

That explains why you start all those threads in the politics forum then disappear like a fart in the wind.

Totally agree. He is like teflon. That is all I can say, though, because Andrew will scold me again..................

I have NEVER heard that expression! That is funny. Thanks!Speaking of farts, I hate it when people walk past you in a crowded store, let one fly that stinks to high heaven and you're left smelling their wind, gagging as you try to find the exit. Pigs.
