KENNY ROGERS RIPS JOURNEY

Postby yogi » Tue Oct 24, 2006 3:41 am

I found this on Fox Sports website. Just google www.foxsports.com and you can read the entire article.

Last year the Chicago White Sox led by Aaron Rowland's love for the music of Journey rode Rowland's superstition to the Sox's first title in 86 years.

This years playoff hereo so far has been Detroits ageless lefthander Kenny Rogers. Rogers who has never been much for rock and roll music recognized last years White Sox rally cry the 80's hit 'Dont Stop Believein' and decided to test karma as well as the free agent market. Rogers inked a two year 16 million dollar deal with the Tigers. That same night he and agent Arn Taylor took in Rogers first Journey concert.' I was mesmorized by their music' stated Rogers. Nine Journey shows later, Rogers owned the entire Journey catalog.' 'I feltThe new guy was every bit as good as the old guy' stated Rogers. The new guy Rogers was referring to was new Journey lead singer Steve Augeri. ' I became kind of a male groupie, but the guys in the band were so great espically lead singer Steve Agueri'. 'Steve and I became good friends.'

Spring training in Sarasota ended Rogers live Journey days. Then came this summers ousting of Rogers Journey friend Steve Augeri. ' It was just wrong', 'he worked his ass off for that band'. 'The way it was handled was a disgrace and I no longer consider myself a fan of the band'.

I thought you all would enjoy this after Kenny Rogers pitched such a great World Series Game last night.

There is quite a bit more. Just log on to fox's site to read the entire article.

Great game?
Augie haters are gonna tee off here but I gotta ask why Kenny Rogers' pitching hand was brown on the palm?

Yeah, in the old days that would have been called a spit ball, do they still do that? I was having a little trouble deciding who to pull for this year but now it the Cardinals all the way for me. He shouldn't have been trying to use the Sox's talisman(pun intended) in the first place and anyone who thinks Augeri was every bit as good as Perry doesn't deserve my support.

I will never understand how someone can stop liking a band because of what the members do or say....does the music become any less "good" or "enjoyable"?

It sure wasn't mud as he claims. Why would his hand be dirty in the first inning? He pitched well and I don't think he was trying to cheat. He didn't have it on his hand from the second inning on and they still couldn't hit him. His location is what made him hard to hit....nothing else. Besides, his curveball wasn't nearly as good last night as it was in his prior two starts. And as far as him sticking up for Augeri, good for him. They were friends and that's what you do.

Kenny Rogers is an asshole. I think he's the one that knocked the shit out of a camera man while is was still with the Texas Rangers (a year ago, I think).

Especially since he went out and bought the entire catalog because he liked the music, and the guy he liked wasn't the one singing on those anyway.

I think it is a crank, u know Yogi.

I've searched foxsports.com and it's not on there anywhere. & Yogi makes typos, but if he copied a story over, he wouldn't have so many typos like even spelling Don't Stop Believin' wrong.

I agree. Didn't care much for him when he was with the Yankees either...

You're right about the camera man thing, he got a 13 game suspension for that. He reportedly had to take an anger management class after that one. I wouldn't pay too much attention to anything that man says, even if he actually said anything about Journey.

Whats so damn ironic is that Kenny( 'Youve got it all in the palm of your hand') Rogers loved Steve Augeri led Journey which was accused of 'tapegate'.

Now Kenny himself is accused of 'palmgate'.

It would not suprise me at all if it wasnt Steve Augeri who sold Kenny the rosin/ dirt/ stonewash mix that was found on his palm.

Ive read where that mixture( what Rogers had on his hand) was the same type chemical that is used on stonewash jeans.

You can find these type jeans at any Gap store.

It's all starting to fit now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many here are actually watching the series? If there's not an East or West Coast team playing, I'm not interested. This controversy stinks to high heaven. Rules are in place, apparently to thumb your nose at as you break them.

There are too many other sports to watch and whether ot not TV time is limited; I'll choose college football/Pro over a "controversial" World Series any day.

I think it's great that there's no east or west coast team involved this time and that's coming from a big Boston Red Sox fan.

I watch, but only pay attention to half of what's going on, since neither of my teams are in it. I hear ya with the rules nonsense, its amazing...the umpire just made him wash his hands? You'd think it was just a little league game or something.

If the guy was cheating, you'd think he might've had stuff on his glove and it accidentally rubbed off on his throwing hand. Otherwise, the guy is really a dunderhead.

They made the right decision. They concluded that it was NOT pine tar, but dirt. Because it was only dirt, they simply made him wash it off. What's the big deal? They couldn't hit him when it was removed anyway. Personally, I think he miswiped his ass before the game. He seems THAT stupid.

Ya there's no cheating in college or pro football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many NCAA teams are on probation anyway?????

The damn replay officials cheat!!!!

Check out ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL the flags thrown on a team from the official on the opposite sideline. I read in ESPN its like over 85% of all flags throw by a sideline official the flag is on the team from the other side of the field.

Football is by FAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR the biggest official rigged sport ever.

It gets worse EVERY YEAR.

I'll take my concert(live/memorix) cheating ass Journey anyday!!!!!

Stonewash on KENNY!!!! Five more innings and you've got the record!!!!!!!!!!

Some of us Journey fans are behind you!!!!!!!!!

P.S. They dont use steroids in the NFL either!!!

If Augeri was on roids could he of sounded more like Perry??

Maybe it would of made him sound more like Teddy Pendergrass.

Can anyone tell me where I can get my hands on a new delux model Wizzanator??????????????

Kenny has been listening a little too much to the never ending rumor mill lately. I think he might be pleasantly surprised at how it rally turns out.

You'd have a good point Eric if this news article was real, but so far it looks as if Yogi was just playing one of his jokes. Nobody has been able to find the article on Fox Sports.

Oh do be quiet, Rich. You don't know anything more than any of us do. All you are doing is speculating once again, in which you call other people on because you don't like speculation.
