I was wondering how long you all have been with
your spouses/engaged before you chained
yourself to your significant other for life?

I lived with hubby for just over a year before
we got hitched.
He proposed in the pouring rain at the
southern most tip of the Canada (look it up  )
and we were married three and a half weeks later.
I'll be 15 years in April.

We dated just shy of 3 years. We were engaged for 11 months. It'll be 21 years of wedded bliss next month.

My wife and I dated for about three months or so and got married about 7 months after being engaged. We've been married for just over 9 years now.

We dated for 2 years before he asked me to marry him...on a moon lit beach & his exact words were "I was wondering if you'd marry me?"... :)

We were engaged for 14 months, & this December 7th will be married 10 years (yeah I know it's Pearl Harbor Day, didn't mean it to be, lol)

We met on a blind date too, lol.

We lived together for 8 years and have been married for 14, will be 15 on April 1st.--(april foooools day)

He is a pretty cool husband considering he is driving 700 miles to take me to the party and concert in Balt. He can be extremely wonderful at times. I think I'll keep him for awhile.(oh, BTW second mariage for both of us.)

Larry, did you know that they have recreated Mayberry in Mt Ayre, NC? It's the town that Andy Griffith came from and the one Mayberry was patterned after. They even have Floyd's barber shop and the drug store.

I met Mark a year to almost the day of losing my friend Kelly....Memorial Day Weekend, 2002.

If I decided NOT to take my friend's invitation to go out to an Open Mic Night, I would've never met him....or done anything else, pertaining to music...

...because I had all but given up.

I thank God for him, everyday.

I lived with my hubby 3 months before we got married. (i was 18, he was 21)
He proposed to be one day after work. We started off as friends
and then one thing led to another. (he was also my supervisor, that's
another long story)

We have been married 12 1/2 yrs. I have no regrets at all, although I
wouldnt ask him if he has any. ;)

Great stories. I enjoyed them all. But shit. Are u all really this happy? I've been married 5 1/2 yrs. We lived together for 2 1/2 yrs before that. I've known him since '88. We were friends 1st. Then dated for 2 yrs in the early '90s. Then he ripped my heart out & married someone else. 6 yrs later he showed up out of nowhere & the rest is history. It feels like he's been around forever & it would be hard to imagine being w/someone else. That's all great sometimes. But some days I'm ready to get rid of him. Let's get real. It ain't all perfect is it? U telling me life's a fairytale? Fuck.

Well, let's see, right now I'm lying on the couch with my lap top, Kirk is sitting at the opposite end, I've got my legs across him and he's rubbing my feet while we are watching a stupid movie on TV....now that is happiness!

Dated Hubby for 2 years, lived together for 1- married for 22 this past Sept.
We have 3 beautiful children- a boy and 2 girls.
He's been my rock, having seen me through a Brain Aneurysm ( 2002) and Breast Cancer ( 2004/5).
And he still thinks I'm the sexiest thing he's seen.
(I think he needs his eyes checked )

I know I'm keeping him! 8) :D

Yes- I collapsed in my livingroom 2 days after X-Mas. I was told the only reason I survived it is because Hubby started CPR and such within a minute.
So I owe him my life, as well as my happiness.

I sort-of figured that!

And yes I'm just fine thanks- I just put it out there to show that HE's had the harder time in this marriage. And he's still here- which quite frankly blows my mind some days :D
