I dunno. By all rights I should despise this song.
Something indefinable about it, (perhaps Perry's sincere vocal, or the fact it was written about his dead mom), elevates it above a standard ballad for me.

Yep, it ain't that bad.
And though I hate ballads, aside from WYLAW TBF has some good ones.

Her eyes are blue, good bye yesterday - I love that tune. But least favourite JRNY tune - good question!, I am not too sure... maybe "Gone Crazy/Back Talk/In Self Defence... hard to pick the winner.

'Baby I'm Leavin You' is AWEFUL.

It is by faaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr Steve Perry's worst ever Journey song.

And to think it was put on Essential Journey.

Yeah, I still don't understand that one. It was not even released as a single, was it? Besides that, it's just a bonus track where the guys seem be just fooling around in the studio.

Hmmm, of the "Hits", I'd have to say "Be Good To Yourself".

As far as the rest of the Perry years, "Baby I'm Leavin' You"

Augeri - either "Believe" (Seems like it's been done before), "Butterfly" (just too much, yuck), or "The Time" (I see where they're going here, it just doesn't do much for me).

It's possibly one of the worst ever songs full stop. Rock bands should NEVER try their hand at reggae. Embarrassing.

The song is not meant to be taken seriously. It's good for what it is, i.e., the guys fooling around in the studio having a laugh.

I can't take it seriously or laugh at it. It should never have seen the light of day - except maybe on some rarities bootleg for obsessives. To put it on TWO albums is beyond understanding...

I can agree with putting it on "Trial By Fire" as a bonus track, but no way on a best of collection.
