"Perry" songs were co-written with other members of the band. Therefore, they are NOT Perry songs.

Headlining tour for what?
The Greatest Hits part 10 ?
Forget it go to sleep until you come up with something creative
If its Jeff than dump every single Perry tune
Then we will see how great things are ,

But....what does Perry tune mean?

The entire current set list
Anything Perry sang on
Take that away and all of a sudden things are not so great
Time to stop living off of Perry songs

Absolutely ridiculous Froy. How do you feel about Perry performing those songs solo?

He didn't write or perform the songs alone, so how can they be considered Perry tunes? :?

Great posts Eric and JGal... If he can perform them during solo shows, why can't Journey perform them? This is just guessing, of course, but it would appear they had some kind of agreement about that instead of going to court like some groups have. I think they have taken the high road about it (at least publicly) and it is a win-win for fans.

For the very same reason they have stopped mentioning Augeri's name at the start of each show.
These guys are trying to make a clean break.

Who wants to hear any Generations songs anyway?

Generations is a great Journey album!- and the big disappointment of the show with JSS was NOT hearing any of the newer Augeri-era material, including Generations or even hearing anything from TBF. Like Augeri or not, Journey has put out some great great tunes over the last 8 years and they should be played. Yes, the average casual fan is happy with a "greatest hits" setlist but I think most here will agree that to not hear newer Journey material (from TBF on) makes for a pretty boring show as though of us who have seen Journey so many times live do get pretty damn bored with songs like "Lights", LTS, etc. that have been PLAYED TO DEATH over the years. The best Journey tour I have ever seen is by far the 2005 Evening with Journey. 3 hours long the band rocked, they were tight as ever, they played pre-Perry, Perry-era, Augeri tunes and YES, Augeri was just amazing!

1. Generations sucks. It has about 2 good tunes on it. A Better Life is the best. Faith In the Heartland is decent.

2. Journey has put out a few good songs over the last 8 yrs. Nothing that was "great great" IMHO.

3. Sure Augeri was "just amazing" last yr. He NEVER sounded better live amazingly enough. Listen to boot after boot of the guy. He was NEVER note perfect until last yr. I could be amazing too if I was lipsynching to a tape. Face it. He was NOT performing LIVE (except for 1 song). Everyone can sound amazing in the studio w/the help of ProTools. I'll give u this much. Augeri deserves an academy award for his acting abilities. He disgusts me b/c of that. Sorry to burst ur bubble. But it makes me sick.

I do still enjoy all the classics and am looking forward to JSS/Journey music. That said, I think it would be ashame for them to ignore some of the Augeri era tunes as well. Songs like Higher Place, World Gone Wild, To Be Alive Again, State of Grace, The Time, Faith in The Heartland, Place in Your Heart, Better Life, etc. While these may not be "classics", there is some really cool music in there.

Out of those I listed, I have never heard WGW, TBAA, or BL live. Really dig those songs and the others. So I really hope they don't discount this whole era in future concerts.

You are COMPLETELY full of SHIT. I've seen Augeri many times and there is absolutely NO DOUBT that he was singing live last year and every year. That lipsynch rumor was complete CRAP. My opinion is that JSS was great this year, couldn't hit some of the notes Perry did, but very very strong voice which I liked very much. I just don't think his style is Journey...looks like a Cro-magnon man....energetic stage presence but goofy like he is on crack, NOT Journey style.

Maybe they should stop using AUGERI sung backing vocals with JSS, since you seem to think they are so much better off with JSS.....

Bring back Augeri or bring Perry back...

Oh yeah the lipsynch rumor was crap. Sure. Listen, I have some swamp land to sell u real cheap....

Have u listened to some boots? Have u watched some videos? Listen to boot after boot of Augeri last yr & ull hear the same vocals again & again & again & again. If u need any, just holler.

Ur right. Early on JSS strained w/some of the notes. But have u heard him lately? Have u heard him hit those notes & soar? If u haven't, u really need to. I just blew my husband away playing some stuff for him. My husband was standing beside me going oh that's good, oh that's really good. & he didn't even really like Jeff's voice at first. Now, he's talking about how rich it is & REALLY looking forward to 11/7 when we see him live.

Jeff looks like a cro-magnon man? Yeah right. Get ur eyes checked. He's hotter than hell. Goofy on stage? Oh yeah right. Have u seen him? No, of course not.

As for the Augeri backing vocals. They did get rid of them. I suggest u check out a recent boot. They're not there anymore. & Jeff may just knock ur sockies off w/the way he hits & holds those notes.

Get real.

Augeri didn't lip the entire tour last year but it's apparent that he lipped a good portion of it. He went from sounding pretty horrible on almost a nightly basis early in the tour to all of a sudden being spot on for every song they did from then on until the big mess up in Manchester, England. Then after the news about the lip-synching breaks, he goes back to sounding horrible again and eventually has to quit the tour altogether, being replaced by another capable vocalist. The evidence isn't looking too good against Mr. Augeri.

I didn't want to believe the evidence at first, either, but I had to be honest with myself and admit that the guy wasn't bringing it by himself.

Wake up and smell the dirt.

I was fortunately enough to hear WGW and TBAA live. Very cool. It would be interesting (in a good way) to hear Jeff do any of the "Augeri-era". Like you said, the may not be classics, but very cool.

Are you for real?? Augeri may have been singing live, but definitely not plugged in. As far as Jeff's style not being "Journey" what the hell does that mean? What is Journey's style? I'm thinking strong vocals fit. Easy on the looks comment, there are many that find Jeff attractive, I'm one of 'em. Post a pic of yourself for critique.

Don't know about the backing vocals, but I'll find out.

FYI- Perry ain't coming back and neither is Augeri

Okay, I'm putting all of the suspense to rest and the rumors can go away.

*I* am touring with Journey going forward.

They needed a waterboy. Jeffery said he will not be in need of my services since his swim in Cali. He has given up the Aquaman title.
