I am a Perryonly but if I feel that soneone is as good as, or better than Perry, I would admit it. At this time, it might work if Deen were singing the songs and Perry were writing the songs with Cain.

of Augeri, I just wasn't interested when
he joined, he did some great stuff but
so far I prefer Perry or Sir Soto.

Loco- Journey w/Soto only... for 2 reasons: Perry's not coming back, and Journey with JSS is beyond amazing! JMHO of course.

Don't get me wrong, I love hearing Perry too, certainly 1 of my favorite singers, but I'm pretty sure at this point he's retired. :wink:

im a fan of all versions of the band , but would put that new Talisman up against some journey releases,, perry always,, soto BIG TIME for now and future.... cant go wrong here,, hey JR... you forgot about us TapeGaters that came on "board" when things got "good".... no disrespect for SA though.... loved Arrival!!

also , what of a catagory for folks like TNC... he fits none of the above,, maybe a "historical expert" who studies the music rather than listen for complete pleasure,, not sure.... :lol:

I did like and accepted Journey with Augeri. Shit, I saw em twice. Loved the first show.

But after their voice enhancement shows I cant accept Journey with anyone other than Perry leading them.

I lost ALL respect for their leader in allowing this to happen, and will never see them or purchase another'Journey' product unless the name Steve Perry is somewhere on that product.

I am sure the current'Journey' is EXCELLENT.

Still I believe if something happens with JSS next it will be Tony Orlando, then the remaining member of Milli Vanilli, followed by Whitney, Janet Jackson, Helen Ready etc...

Neal will just keep runnin em out there. Its all about lining ones pockets now!!!!!!

Then why do you invest so much time here? Why not wait till Perry re-joins the band, and then come back to the board and give us all a bunch of I told you so's. I am sure we will all be waiting and looking forward to your return, whenever that might be :shock:

. And, by the way, what is wrong with making money off the music you helped create? Being a musician is being involved in the music business. They don't call it a business for nothin' ya know.

You missed one category. You have 'Perry with Augeri but not Soto' and you have 'Perry with Soto but not Augeri'. You don't have 'Augeri with Soto but not Perry'. It seems you've assumed that people MUST like Perry in some combination.

And before you say that nobody would choose that category, I think it most closely matches my feelings on the matter. Nowadays I am a FAN of the music, no matter who is singing. However, I wasn't a fan of Journey in Perry's days. I always considered him too 'poppy' and I was into heavy rock in those days. Being UK based, of course I didn't have the chance to see them live (which would probably have changed my mind). It wasn't until I saw them live with Augeri a few years ago that I was instantly converted.

I don't dislike Perry, and I certainly acknowledge that he is a great singer. However, personally I prefer versions of the songs as sung by Augeri, and especially JSS, sung in a live environment.

Even tho I appear to be Loco, Perry's voice brought me to Journey. I also enjoyed Augeri when he was able to bring it on.

Fan. I really don't care who sings, as long as whoever sings can sing.

That being said, though, I'm really looking forward to JSS being the singer, permanently! JSS rocks and he's exactly what Journey needs to move forward. Pay him well, Neal. He's a keeper!
