Maybe someone can take that cranky c*nt, Monker. In fact, I can see it now:

Driving Miss Monker....to the Iowa Journey show.

I would love to meet Monker!!! Monker, get your ass to the Moline show and I'll buy you a couple beers. Hey Deano, Moline is in Illinois, though right on the border of Iowa.

I've never done that in my life. ONLY because I'm too stupid. Shit, I have trouble turning my computer on at times. If you can walk me through it in an inexpensive way I'd be more than happy to go to Best Buy and purchase the goods. Tell me EXACTLY what I'd need to buy!!!

But arguing about them everyday is? Either your life is absolutely no fun or you're the world's biggest antagonist. Either way, borrow someone's balls, insert them in your empty sack, and get your ass to the show. Find out for yourself whether they have anything live going. Bootlegs do not convey audience electricity or band energy, so don't give me the "I've heard them via bootlegs" bullshit. Fuck, give it a try. THEN, you'll have ammunition to come on this board with. Right now, you're just shooting blanks. You have ZERO credibility.

I've heard them in Ames...no need to spend 3hrs on the road to Moline, or two hours on the road to Omaha.

That's not what I said.

I said they were good. Jeff gives 200%. But, their set list has problem...people were lost during "Dead or Alive" and "Edge of the Blade"...I had to actualy move out of the way to let people go get drinks, or whatever. I said Def Leppard upstaged Journey in almost every way...from getting the crowd going with their opening with "We Will Rock You" (compared to "Same as the old boss") to the use of the video, to their set list, to showing off the musicianship of ALL of the members of the band (instead of just Neal and Jonathan), to playing NEW songs. Journey came off as a band still looking to find themselves and their audience and DL came off as a band who knew exactly what to do and what to give their audience.

Journey was good...but not any better or worse then what I have seen in the past...and DL was a LOT better then I had expected, after reading the propaganda on this forum.

Because you're either deaf, dumb or blind. Or, all three.

If that's true, then you haven't been to a show in awhile.

Bullshit. You said it because you thought I had not seen a show. Seems like you are the one who was a bit ignorant. Get that foot out of your mouth.

Point is - people are going all bonkers over this band like it the second coming of 1982. It isn't...and the band doesn't live up to THAT much hype. Blow away DL every day? Bullshit, I don't care who says it...I'm sure they do - at times - but not every day. People need a hefty dose of reality - and not just those who believe Augeri is coming back.

Granted, I did think that. But, since you have been to a show and can't tell the difference (for the better), it is you who is deaf. I have no problem pulling my foot out of my mouth. Thank you!

Well, now you are blind and can't read. So, you have two out of the three...dumb and blind...can't tell if you are deaf.

I didn't say "I can't tell the difference." I said they were no better or worse then what I have seen in the past. They're not.

Slight exaggeration, but why does it bother you that people are excited about Journey again? Because you wish Styx generated this kind of excitement?

It doesn't bother me that folk are excited about it, but I can see what Monker's saying.

Some folk have gone a bit OTT. As always you can take from that what you want.

It's been posted on this forum that next year will bring the greatest comeback in rock history, that JSS is the next best singer to Steve Perry, that they will be on the charts again....and on and on and on.

I'm NOT exagerating. It doesn't really 'bother' me...but I don't see why I shouldn't point it out.

As for Styx...they have a new DVD/CD along with new songs. "Excitement" is relative...and I will exchange less hype and exagerations from fans for new music by the band any day.

As usual some folk go over the score.

I'm not saying Jeff isn't good, I've seen him live a few times and he is... I just think going on as if it's "the 2nd coming" as Monker put it is a bit silly. Hardly anyone I know, even folk who were around in the early 80s, is actually aware of their existence so I think that says something.

I think what'll happen is they'll tour again with JSS, possibly do an album next year which will sell well enough... but I don't think it's gonna be anything like some on here say it is.
