Deen's voice is amazingly beautiful & I love hearing him sing too, & felt bad he was sick, but it was quite a treat to hear Jeff sing the whole set, ballads included, I loved it.

Jeff's a great singer, but in the range department, he falls short.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking just this morning. I have seen the new lineup in concert recently and I totally agree. JSS does an awesome job up there on stage, he is an excellent singer and really does the songs justice in the absence of Perry. But what I found listening to them and watching them during the concert is that the magic is gone. Sure, they have a conraderie and look like they are having fun out there, but there is no magic. period And that is not to say that Perry made the band. The three of them (Neil, Jon, Perry) made the band and there would be no magic if any one of the three weren't there.JMOkctdaniels wrote:I've just seen
this lineup twice
and i must say,
he ain't no perry
mean no ill will,. by all
rights ths lineup should be even
better. standing them next to each other, new
guys is in reality cuter, sexier, much more
rock & roll, much cooler... than perry ever was
but there is an intrensic with perry,
an intrensic with Neal and perry together
that creates an unexplainable heat,
new guy is probably more palatble with masses, critics
but what ever it is that made me not care how uncool it
was to love this band, that magic that made the music rise
above the mass palatable rest,
it is not here.
Not sure it can be again
closest would be for perry to work his ass, off and get his self and esp his voice in shape, for jrny to find an amazing producer that can pull out the best and flush the crap
if, if, if
lot of ifs and egos and mountains
but i'm sry. the heat is gone.
neal is still amazing enough to keep the embers burning, but ...
ps. not about any loyalty to any one. I'd love it if they could recapture something
but i just don't feel it. a lot of people I know don't get it. like better than last lineup, but still nothing to go knock one off their seat.
just one op in this crowd of believers
