I have heard Jeff sing the ballads, in Buffalo (Deen was sick), & he nailed them. Crowd was on their feet clapping & yelling (myself included) after each one too, so I'm pretty sure they agreed. :wink:

Deen's voice is amazingly beautiful & I love hearing him sing too, & felt bad he was sick, but it was quite a treat to hear Jeff sing the whole set, ballads included, I loved it.

This is riveting.
On the one hand, people are saying that Jeff has a limited range and fails to do the songs justice and on the other hand, people are saying he is the best damned thing since Perry.

I know who's telling truth. I have heard Jeff's range for myself and he is nothing but incredible. If you disagree or want to hear it for yourself, just check out all of the sound clips on his website. You can even get a sample of Jeff singing Faithfully.

I broke my speakers.
At this point, I am thinking of just waiting to hear Jeff until I go to a show.

Leppard is a bunch of Yorkshire-pie scarfing, pasty faced wankers and Journey's set list is uninspired.
I will catch the next tour hopefully.

The recent addition of "Message of Love" tells me the band is on the right path.

One of my buddies I attended the Buff show with went in thinkingt JSS's voice wasn't right for Journey.....but he was shocked, especially by the ballads. I was even surprised. He is really something.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking just this morning. I have seen the new lineup in concert recently and I totally agree. JSS does an awesome job up there on stage, he is an excellent singer and really does the songs justice in the absence of Perry. But what I found listening to them and watching them during the concert is that the magic is gone. Sure, they have a conraderie and look like they are having fun out there, but there is no magic. period And that is not to say that Perry made the band. The three of them (Neil, Jon, Perry) made the band and there would be no magic if any one of the three weren't there.JMO

Last time I checked, Neal Schon, Gregg Rolie, Prairie Prince, George Tickner, and Ross Valory made the band. That could be just me, though.

When I attended the July 25th show in Cincinnati, I felt magic. I heard some of my all-time favorite songs performed by a revitalized, re-energized band that was out to rock my balls off. It was absolutely incredible, and if all the other attendees felt the way I did as I yelled out, "YOU'RE MY BOY JEFF!", then maybe the band's not in such bad shape after all.

Of course, I am being selfish, but when I saw them in Holmdel, NJ in 2005, I got right down near front row for a real good price. It was awesome. Hmmm, I wonder if it was taped?
