Journey fans who complain because Perry ain't around and long for his return....

...are just the same as, for example, Yankees fans who hope Babe Ruth will one day come back.

It's not happening, he's in the past, he's done long gone, it's over with, deal with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Babe Ruth dead??? Bad analogy.

Not exactly, atleast from this fan. I love Perry and always will but not sitting around waiting for him. Yankee fans still talk about and play tribute to Babe Ruth, but they know he's not coming back unless they are dillusional and contact him from the spirit world. Perry is in the past, but he's still part of the current Journey too cause he wrote alot of those songs.....so I'm dealing with it and I agree Viva la Soto!!! its not all or against, its all good, baseball is a competition and Journey vocalists don't have to compete. Sorry if you don't like hearing at all about Perry, cover your eyes 8)

That was the point. Steve Perry's career with Journey is dead. That's how I took it anyway. :-)

I'm sorry, I just don't agree with you guys at all. Yes, it's true, SP is no longer the front man for Journey, but I think we are all aware he is still very much involved with their music. If not, what were those things that hit music stores on October 3rd??? What are those songs we're hearing at every Journey concert, and I recently heard that SP is making somewhere around 37% profit off of Journey even now. And isn't it true that Steve Perry's voice is the one we hear on almost every Journey promotional soundbite out there???

No, boys, he is not dead. Comatose maybe, handicapped quite possibly, but far from dead.

Whether he ever comes back or not is anyone's guess. I realize I'm probably foolish for keeping a sliver of hope that he will one day rejoin the lineup, but I will continue to hope, because I think that would be such an awesome thing! Until then, I will just go see Journey with JSS in a few weeks, and continue to listen to my classic Journey music.

I don't mean to piss anyone off, but for me personally, it's as if the Augeri Journey never really existed. I saw them in concert once, and they were good, but not good enough to keep my attention. We'll see about JSS...I'm hoping for great things from him.

Absolutely right. Until 2004, all you heard was the curse...Boston wishing that the Babe never left.
