Apology

Postby Rockindeano » Thu Nov 02, 2006 1:01 pm

To Andrew and others:

I am sorry for wishing AIDS on anyone. Anyone who knows me knows I would never or could never mean that, but anyway, I am sorry.

I HAD to do this. I still hate with all my heart, about 5 people on here, and hate the living shit out of them, but o well.

I don't often agree with you or your care for your persona on here sometimes but at least you're man enough to publicly apologize.

Am I on the hate list or just on the "Stupid Conservative, Religious nut job, Red stater" list?

Deano. For what it's worth. If it means anything. You provide a LOT of valuable info. to this board. I truly hope you will stay here. Let's just go by Andrew's rules. You are just as passionate, and more so than many, about this band. You have provided SO much valuable info. here, that you would be missed. It is all about HOW you express your views and opinions. I have enjoyed our conversations and pm's. Think about it my friend. Hang around and let's go by the rules. It's all good. 8)

Howard Stern regularly wished diseases on his radio enemies. I am a fan of his, and never take that stuff seriously. I didn't take it seriouly when Deano did it either.

When God the Almighty wishes a disease on me, then I am going to worry.

I hope you all catch the flu.

Damn, I'm sorry. Anybody start coughing yet?

I know you don't mean that, Deano. I know where you are, and how to get ahold of ya, and you know how to get ahold of me. I do wish tho that maybe you will come back to the board...........when and if you are ready to. You know you are missed by me.

One other thing. You and Andrew have no idea how much I would LOVE to get to spend a day with the band. I have been a fan for over 20 years, and have got to meet only one of them. Ross. I ALMOST got to meet Jonathan, who I have always admired. He had a bad night during the show (started the wrong song), and was an ass to me and my wife. But you know what? I'm still here, I still love 'em all, and still wish the best for their future. Deano, you have stuff, just like Andrew, that some of us wish we had. I am a grown man just lilke yourself. Take pride in what you have been able to do, but once again, just go by the rules. I personally cannot be offended. I often chuckle or blow coffee out my nose in reading what you have to say. Hope to see you here soon buddy!! If you 'hate' some people here, just realize what you 'know' and what they know. You certainly know more than I. Don't let it ruin something here you obviously love, and just let it roll off your back. Take care dude. :)

An Apology. I have to think about what that exactly means. For we all know with it comes the turgid middle finger, a wink and a sly smile. Put down the finger, get rid of the wink and try to back up the apology for putting the pox on everyone with some of your classic ridiculous humor. I like you! I think you are hilarious. But even you have to play by the rules sometimes! Welcome back!

Oh, to heck with the rules!! We have to follow the rules all day long--here is fun and irreverance!! If he leaves, the board will be kind of a dud, won't it? I remember some really good laughs and lots of information from most of his posts... It would be a shame if he gets the life censured out of him here... I guess I would/will leave, too...

I don't know McNeil and have no personal agenda, but it's been obvious to me that he/she is the target of many of Deano's insults. Does anyone else (ie: Andrew...) see this as baiting Deano?? If he doesn't respond, he's a coward. If he does, he's an asshole. Perhaps it's time for a few others to take a timeout just for good measure...? Just a thought.

Ok. Just a thought here as well. Donnaplease, you perhaps are very correct. Let's ALL go by the rules here. Andrew pays for this site. None of us do. He allows us to express opinions pretty boldy here. Sometimes you just have to say "if only you knew what I knew ************". Deano brings a lot of great info. here. Some will NEVER accept what is going on with Journey. I just hope Deano can laugh 'quietly' and still give some of us who just love Journey the info. we are looking for. If Andrew says "Don't do so and so", let's just not do it. There is a lot of passion about this band right now, but I truly believe it's going to be wonderful in the future. Some will never accept that. IT DOES NOT MATTER. They have been around a long time, and hopefully will be for a long time to come. Deano, just remember those who despise you and will not listen cannot change the future of Journey and what you already may/may not know.

Apology

Postby Rawbean » Thu Nov 02, 2006 1:55 pm

Deano - it's pretty tough to get me to laugh out loud, I mean really cackle, particularly if I'm by myself just watching a t.v. show or reading the posts on this forum. But I have to say, you (and Conan O'Brien :-) can crack me up in an instant. Since I joined this forum about a month ago, I've looked forward to turning my computer on in the evenings to read your insanely sharp-witted comments and the rest of the shenanigans; you truly add so much insight and humor to this board. It's such an escape from the workday when you can talk/read about your favorite band with those who love them just as much as you and laugh your ass off at the same time. No apology needed for me. Please keep me laughing!

Look forward to meeting you, Lula and everyone else next week :D

Sure, but here's the thing...

I don't want Deano to "laugh quietly". I enjoy the rowdy, in-your-face humor that he brings here. But perhaps he can do it with fewer "Sternisms", if you know what I mean. The people who watch and listen to Howard Stern do so knowing exactly what they are getting. He markets to a particular type of people - which is great. Not all those people are the same people who hang out here. That's why I say to just tone it down "a little". It's funny when Deano straddles that line, and occasionally crosses it. Sometimes, the line is nowhere to be found, though, and that's when Andrew needs to step in.

WHY would Deano possibly want to come here and share things with us if he cannot be himself? I agree 100% with AR when he says 'he ain't gonna do it'. I understand.

Dean can be great, I've told him so. I think he gets out of line but I have no reason to single him out.

I'm speaking in general about the forum. Calling someone a c.unt for example, is not the way to win an argument. But where else can we go for informed Journey discussion? Sadly there's no choice but to wade through some of the muck here to get it.

Suppose they really are one though? Say it, get it overwith, save a lot of keystrokes.

Why is it that men take almost no offense to being called a dick but women freak out over that C word?
