You don't want to translate back literally, as with any language. For example "taco" is left in the phrase because it's called that in so many Mexican restaurants. Technically the translation is "taquete" but that is not often used.

Gramatically I was still guilty of that as well. Got lazy and used a translator. Breaking out the Honors Spanish 3 from 1985, I think this is probably closer:
