On a sadder note  yesterday I got the news that one of my idols from yesteryear has passed away. Sandy West, drummer from The Runaways, has succumbed to cancer.

May she rest in peace.

A major tragedy in the female rock world. My condolences to her family and friends, and especially to the band members.

On a happier note, I just purchased tickets to see Roger Waters in Perth in February - it's gonna cost us about 2 grand but what the fuck!!

Closest thing I'm gonna get to ever seeing Pink Floyd...

Ooooohh! :D Missed out on the real deal myself so I know exactly what you mean! If the show is anything like he did in Europe this year it's absolutely worth it. Three hours, including the complete DSOTM. I bet if you were a girl you'd be sliding down your chair now...

Don't get me wrong here! My aunt brought along two women (her single minded, single friends) in the age of late 50's! I had some hopes for the evening but as much as I love Elvis Presley, they were all huge Tommy Steele fans and we just didn't get along!

Tommy Steele eh?? There's a blast from the past - I think my parents used to like him!!

Good effort at my place tonight - all geared up for a BBQ.....the gas bottle runs out. Cooking inside.

Go on Thomasha, jump on a plane. I'm back in Finland at the moment. Nearly got stranded in Sweden on Friday because of the storms. There is lots of snow here right now. It's nice.

Penny, there's enough snow here to last all winter!

I'm off to see Europe live tonight. I've just heard the new album but can't say I like it, distorted vocals is a bit too much for me. I'm an AORster at heart, you know!

Have fun, Thomasha!

Didn't they use distortion on the vocals on the previous album as well? :?

Or keyboards at that matter. Can't have AOR without the keys.

Hello!

Back from the Europe show and I'm disappointed, not one track from Wings Of Tomorrow! All in all a good show but not my cup of tea. Like Jonny says, where the hell are the keyboards? :x

I'll stick with my wimp rock!

If Europe wanted to truly make a good album, they should do up a tribute album of songs made from bands who tried to follow in Europe's footsteps. Could you imagine them doing a cover of Talisman's "I'll Be Waiting" or Treat's "Muscle in Motion?" (although Contagious' version is pretty Europe-esk.)

You want Europe to make a covers album from bands that tried to emulate them?

Rather strange idea, don't you think? So are you guys saying that the band doesn't utilise Michaeli on staqe with the new stuff? What does he do, eat a curry a-la Rick Wakeman??

They only need him to play the intro to 'The Final Countdown' then he no longer has a purpose to be on stage :D

May I suggest another Brazon Abbott album?

Those bands went out of way to copy you. I bet said bands would be honored to have their songs redone by their idols. And if said covers become hits, it's gravy for everyone.

I'm sure he's plenty well used live. It's only in the studio where he seems to disappear. But that's the life of a keyboardist. We're used to getting smeared into the background.

For breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Plenty of appetizers with Mad Anthony's Hot Sauce and shots of Cabo Wabo Tequila for everyone!

Bottles of anything with a glazed doughnut - to go, also available.

The kiddie menu offers whatever the parents feel is appropriate.

Oh man that brings back memories of a very funny video.....wish I could get my hands on a copy of that one - lost it years ago, as you do when you're in the hurricane years......
