OK:

I've got the 'phones on; listened to this song like 4 times now:

Are you SURE he's on here in BG?

Usually, I could pick that voice out in a crowd (think "We Are The World" Chorus)

....but wow....he IS pretty "buried" on this one....never thought I'd ever say that about him...

**EDIT** - OK - I THINK he has one of the lower harmony parts...can't be sure, tho....

Otherwise:

Catchy as all HELL....Steve should do some retro-80s synth-pop like this....the Sax TOTALLY makes it sexy....8)

PS ~ Thanx SO MUCH for this - I could never find it  I could almost "see" him with his ROR hair and headphones standing in a circle around the Boom mic with the other BG singers 8)

OK, you got it Nora. When I started reading your post I couldn't believe you couldn't hear that great baritone part in there but you picked it up(as I knew you would). Yeah, the ROR hair part too.

Oh - too funny!!

Ironically enough, WATW WAS the song before "Still In Love" on this download....you can very faintly hear, "...it's true we make a better day..."

I've got my Hip-Hop Dance routine from earlier today going thru my head as I listen to this...again.... 8)

Eeep. This song sucks. But I like the Perry-wailings...

...amazing how he even makes crummy songs bearable.

LarryFromNextDoor wrote:"jackies alone........" these lyrics have stuck with me since he wrote and recorded it,, for some strange reason ,, someone could now write a song and put Perry in there like he put sam and janis,,, i liked Raised on Radio as well,, but CBTM is perfect...thanks BJG!!

Great lyrics, I didn't know what they (Goodrum and Perry) were talking about, because I never read the lyrics...but now I get it...Goodrum is a great songwriter...as is Perry, when he collaborates with the right folks. I hope Perry involves Randy should he engage in any degree of a comeback/return....

Let It Rock You - Journey

http://www.sendspace.com/file/alcim1

Demo for a song which never made the cut...

I'm not sure when this was recorded. The bass and drums make it sound like an ROR demo...but the vocals and guitar sound like the Evolution/Departure era. Anyone know?

Here's the song: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=A73561475A5809DA

PS It doesn't sound quite like SP in the beginning. I think it's the other guy. Listen to the 2nd verse though.

Thanks, Jabberwocky. I haven't heard that one before.

It's definitely post-Rolie & during the Cain era so 1981 or beyond. But Steve's voice is pre-Frontiers sounding to me so I'd guess it's from 1981-1982. I really like it tho. Makes me wonder just how much unreleased stuff they might have.

I have this one which is Steve Perry with Annie Sampson & Joe Baker from Stone Ground (according to the talking at the beginning) where they do "Love Hurts" & Steve sticks in a bit of "Unchained Melody" in the middle. U also get the bonus of Steve's incredibly sexy speaking voice at the beginning. (Mmmm. It's a bit early in the morning for a cold shower.)

I don't know where I got this. Probably Sallee who gives me everything so I'm sure I have her to thank.
