Steve Perry on Uncle Joe:
Like his last appearance on UJ to promote the last live DVD, this time he'll be spreading the word about the latest thing of note he's been involved in -- the reissues. He'll go on and on about "upgrading the fidelity of the sound" and making them more "Sonically textured" and he'll give a few short anecdotes about the rare unreleased cuts from "Alien project" and the balance of the abandoned cuts from "Against the Wall." He will say the words "it's tough" , or "it's difficult" at least twice.

JSS is the new Singer. Neal obviously DIGS him (ie: Soul Sirkus) and it's Neal's band. This one's such a glaring no brainer at this point, and the fans seem to like him. JSS knows Andrew is an important hub of the melodic rock machinery (not just the site, but the biz) so he flew him in and set him up to give him this SCOOP. Smart man. A new "journey" will officially be made official that will include an intention to record new material.
I don't agree with how Steve A. was removed from the equation. Certainly not a kind send off for someone who helped sustain their presence for 8 years, but it's not my call. Steve A's a nicer guy than I am if he still attends shows to show his support. He'd get more respect from me if he'd speak openly and honestly, but it's entirely probable his Journey contract prevents him from doing so. The institution protects itself.

Of course only a real fan would know these things, so I guess I have love in my heart for them. Just a little bored though. No -- a LOT bored. For me the Journey has become something I was once very passionate about, but now only have passing interest in. And I'm okay with that. Steve Perry let a lot of very valuable "running" years get away from him.
If there's anything forthcoming beyond the above I'll be officially surprised, and the first to admit it.

LMAO! Larry would love that one for his band!Wow, "sonically textured." I really LIKE that! That would make a great name for a rock band!

Among the many things TapeGate put the lie to, this is one of them.
Journey is not Neal's band. It's Azoffs'.
Sure, Neal and Jon may have more say than others, but they have bosses, too.
Common misconception-
People think once Perry was removed Neal got "the reins back" and resumed a great degree of control.
However, Neal never held the reins to begin with; Herbie Herbert did.
And in similar fashion, their current management now calls the shots.
