Semi-O.T. - Faith Hill

Postby knox » Wed Nov 08, 2006 7:15 am

Why do fans blindly support artists?

Aside from the Augeri scandal, we now have Faith Hill’s reaction to Carrie Underwood winning over her at the CMA awards last night. In addition, why do the artists (publicists, whoever) try to cover things up instead of just saying “Yeah, I was ticked, I reacted, I was wrong. Sorry.” Covering up just makes things worse all around. The word from Faith’s publicist is “It was a joke, she was kidding". Anyone with eyes can see that she was genuinely upset after smiling and laughing a split second before. That is hard to fake.

Come on people – admit you are wrong when you mess up and quit with the cover ups, denials and blatant lies. We, the fans aren't stupid (well, those of us here at MR.com aren't :D )

MOST entertainers get to this point, when no matter how much you like them, they just are fake. The old town they used to live in might not be good enough for them, they might not associate with certain people, etc. you know what I mean.

If someone is upset about NOT winning an award, then they really have too big an ego to think they would have won it in the first place.
Without ego, we have no pride in what we are saying.

Go to www.break.com and look for the video clip. It should still be close to the top.

Here's a youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyZRiEJnIag

I think she looked like she might have been a bit drunk or something. lol

It's funny how she raises her arms in victory just before Carrie Underwood is announced as the winner.

Maybe it really was a joke, I don't know, she just seems a little....wired or tipsy or something. *shrug*

Rumor has it that Hill was told by undisclosed sources at the CMAs that she was going to win the award. Doesn't justify her reaction, but makes it a little more understandable.

I agree, she should just admit she had a momentary lapse.

I watched the video. Wow! I haven't seen anything like that before !

Anyway, how many years has Faith Hill won that particular award? If she has been winning it alot, maybe she thought she would again. It shows to me that she was banking on past awards to win this one, maybe even expecting it this year, and the rug was pulled out from under her. I dunno, I don't know much about the Country Music scene. If anyone has more info and if I am wrong about what I just said, please correct me.

She's probably pissed that she lost to a talent show winner.

I have watched this video quite a few times today and I can totally see where she was joking (which is exactly what she claims). It looks like just a smart ass reaction to me. I can't see her of all people doing that seriously(although I might have the same reaction if I lost to Carrie Underwood! lol!)

Faith Hill is a classy lady. I don't believe she'd be genuinely pissed at not winning. (Unless an insider had tipped her off that she was winning, and she was mad about being lied to. Maybe she stormed off camera to go slap her source!) I could see her pretending to be upset and being sassy like that. Too bad the camera didn't follow her.

Why the FUCK were you watching the CMA's and NOT Monday Night Football. I know it was the Raiders and your High School team could entertain better than them, but dude? What were you thinking?

Dude, Pronger is NOT a good guy. A tremendous defenceman, but a bad guy.

In STL, he had an affair and was escorted out of there to Edmonton on a rail. There in EDM, same thing, this time with a reporter(albeit a hot one). He is a dick.

 Now THAT was funny!

Actually, Country is all I listen to if not listening to Journey or some other 80's music. Top 40 sucks these days, and Country is much more mainstream than the twangy crap of old. And have you seen the women who SING country music???
I love Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Sarah Evans, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, heck, I even like our hometown boy Kenny (Mr. Ex-Zellweger) Chesney.

I can't listen to our top 40 stations anymore with all that bile they put on the airwaves. The 70's and 80's station is alright, but I get tired of the same old songs there, too. Country is fresh and new, with musicians who WRITE and PLAY some of their own stuff. Nothing is canned in a synthesizer or computer, the music is genuine even if it was written by someone in their office and played by a big named gal.

Oh, and it WAS the Raiders...

Re: Faith Hill reaction comment

Postby StoneCold » Thu Nov 09, 2006 1:58 am

--- A comment I found under the video ---

7 years of my life were spent working stage security at various arenas and concert halls in the Eastern part of the U.S. As a part of this job I frequently had contact with artists, their managers, road crew and their personal security guards.

I can with complete honesty say that Faith Hill is a complete b_tch who was very demanding and was impossible to please & she was very rude to everyone.
