Here are a couple of videos of the band that a lot of us thought was Journey when we first heard them in the early 80's. I still love their 2 albums.

Comments? Anyone here never heard of them?

Thanks dude! You know, they were pretty damn good! But I don't like Call to the Heart. All pretty talented, but all that blonde hair and make up makes me feel kinda funny.

I had a thread here (that I believe got deleted) where I mentioned this album as a potential idea for JOURNEY. As you know Silk & Steel had ballads on the Silk side and rockers on the Steel side. Neal Schon did something similar with his Late Nite album where side AM had mellow stuff and side PM had more rocking stuff. I thought it would be interesting to see JOURNEY do "Rhythms and Blues" where one side would be devoted to rhythms and the other side devoted to blues.

That idea didn't go over very well!

Considering the number of drummers, bassists, and guitarists Guiffria and House of Lords went through, Gregg must have been very difficult to work with, controllling the band along the lines of Coverdale with Whitesnake. Not to mention David Glenn Eisley's being replaced by James Christian prior to recording the first HOL album, though I think that decision may have been heavily influenced by Gene Simmons.
NIG, good point about Perry/Sam Cooke. For all the ripping guys have taken from borrowing "Perry-isms" the truth of the matter is that Perry ripped Cooke off more than anyone has ever ripped off Perry, with the exception of Hugo.

I don't hear Journey AT ALL. Journey is a rock band...this sounds like hair metal.

Wow...back when bands actually had real singers, not all the depressing monotone crap we've been hearing the past few years. Btw, I actually saw 'Angel'...back in the day...all hair, synthesizers, and white jumpsuits! Always thought they were a little ahead of their time. Dunno.

I will second dat.

The two Guiffria albums were GREAT but Gregg was obviously a bit of a pain. Look at what also happened with Angel!

Not to tread on T-Bone's E-Bay aspirations, but I have both sets of MP3's, along with some other related stuff if anyone is interested. Just PM me.

A few month's back, I saw a Sponge Bob episode where he breaks into a stage performance and the voice was David Glenn Eisley. It was great.
