You're not in a confined room right behind me inhaling it, either....are you?

I love the way you argue.

You ride a bike to work, Matt?

He probably drives one of those queer-looking tiny little Euro cars, the ones that are barely big enough for a midget to drive. It's gotta be rough on the feet, though, with those holes in the floor for the Flintstone-style brakes.

 Actually...I can't drive...

As stupid as people who still smoke in the first place. My dad died of lung cancer at 53...never smoked a day in his life. Probably sat at a resturant or bar next to someone like you who doesn't give a shit whether you infringe on someone else's right to clean air and good health.

I'm not defending smoking or denying that it can be unpleasant for other people - but equally the theatrical, intolerant and judgemental reactions to smoking by people who drive and who choose to live in major cities which they help to pollute....well, it just gets on my wick sometimes.

Damn...good thing this conversation wasn't acting about DRIVING then huh?

Sure it is..they are telling you that you have the right to smoke and kill yourself(oh and others too). I guess you guys are right, some people DON"T need the government to tell them how stupid they are!

Who is arguing? I stated my opinion and he jumped me about and that was my response. Easy, cheesy

I don't smoke anymore and I don't like going places where there is smoke...which there are MUCH more then not. Even when I WAS a smoker I NEVER thought I had more rights then nonsmokers, but I was and always will be in a minority about that opinion. It's very easy to use the government as a scapegoat for telling someone what to do, vs just having a compassion and concern for fellow humans health and comfort.

Sad.

But voting to ban smoking is like telling someone what to do.

Not having the ban has been telling nonsmokers the same, the ban doesnt tell you -you cant smoke it says you cant smoke in public places where others dont want to be subjected to its harmful outcome.

Ahhh, still bitter about my Twins comments a while ago, I see.

Did I ever say I smoke when I go out to a restaurant? Did I ever say I don't care about other people's health? Nope, and I don't light up wihtout regards to other people, in fact I don't light up at a restaurant, EVER. But I want the right to be able to smoke if I want to. Who says we have the right to clean air and good health? Big business doesn't care about that. They let out poisons all the time into the air. Concentrate on them, blame someone else, not "people like me". Lung cancer isn't just caused by smoke much less second hand smoke, you should look somewhere else to lay your blame.
Without ego, we have no pride in what we are saying.

Like yulog says...take it outside, in your car or in your house. Nobody is saying you can't smoke there. Harm yourself all you like there.

back on topic of vote... 40% of the nation who could vote voted... and the media gets all exited... how sad... most places 70% go vote or more... and can someone tell me what the dem plan is??? besides wanting to raise minimum wage??? There other plan was to eleminate Rummy---thats done already by Bush... :) Did you ever hear a plan on the campaign trail anywhere??? as a pundent said this morning.. it was about Bush,Bush and Bush---

so if they (dems) dont produce results in 2 years..--will this be a short term bliss and actually help Rudy or MCCain in 08??? However, what if (USA) we get to declare victory in IRAQ by 08.. will that help Hillary in 08 with the dems in control now??? discuss...

by the way TNC... Yes Iam conservative--been one my whole life---and DAMN PROUD OF IT...
Iwill defend the principles of HARD WORK, INDEPENDENCE AND THE PURSUIT LIBERTY and of HAPPINESS --I dont think I am entitled like you do... I earn and work for it... ... i dont need Sean, Rush or Savage... I have myself... just who Iam...
