Ask Monker & Froy (Journey history)

Postby ArnelRox » Fri Nov 10, 2006 6:24 am

From reading Monker's thread, I was inspired. It's gonna be pretty boring here for the next few days w/some of our big players in Baltimore. Monker & Froy are Journey historians extraordinaire (so I've been told). Let's shoot off the questions we've always wanted to know & pick these boys' brains.

MONKER:

Name an Ancient God mentioned in one of JOURNEY's songs.

Ok my question, who the bloody hell is the "Jessie" or is it "Jesse" mentioned in some songs?

As long as it's not Jessie Jackson, I'll stay a fan of Journey.

Ding, ding, ding! That is correct!

Since I'm a "word" person I'll stick to lyrics.

Which song uses "40 days" as something of a biblical reference to the 40 years of wandering?

I've always wondered about that.

Is the son MLK and the house the US? I've always thought it was about the civil rights movement.

I always thought Sadaam due to the parts like "as the heavens fall from the sky" talking about the warplanes bombing Iraq and "wicked prophets kill while speaking his name". Hell, I'm confused too.

Fans have always speculated that "Signs of Life" was the musical equivalency of flipping Perry the bird.

In other words, he can collect dust in his creepy Hollywood hills mansion, the band will continue to prevail.
