I couldn't be more than pleased with what Perry has already done. Anything else is just icing on the cake.

Just glad that he keeps in touch with his fans.

Oh, come on Lora, just throw up Steve's regular email address. While you're at it, how about his cellphone number, too! Let's all surprise him! You know he'd enjoy it! :D

Yeah, but those are good questions to ask him, Matthew, don't you think?

Sure, Fred - but he's been asked whether or not he plans to sing again a million times already....

It depends on my mood, HOTS....at the moment I'm getting pretty bored of telling myself 'well, it's better than nothing'...

As Sherrie said...the crumbs from the table aren't enough anymore...and that goes for both Perry and Journey....

Lori - are you seriously saying that it doesn't bother you in the slightest that for a DECADE Perry has given hope to his fans without ever making a commitment one way or another?

I have some pretty decent artwork of my own on my walls and people keep asking me why I don't do more with this talent. I tell them that I'm happier for having done what I have and for knowing that I had it in me to accomplish it at all. It's hard to understand, I guess. You have to be there.

No - that's easy to understand. If Perry said...I'm proud of the work I did and I've achieved what I set out to achieve but now I'm retiring....then I'd be disappointed but I'd respect his decision.

My point is that he hasn't said this....sure, he says he's proud of the work he did but he then drops hints that he might want to sing again...perhaps...let's see....who knows...maybe in the future....I'm practising my scales...etc...etc...

Okay - maybe he has been genuinely indecisive all these years and wanted to keep the door open....but now TEN YEARS ON it feels like the right time to make a decisive announcement to his fans.

Isn't ten years his usual timeout? Think positive, but if he says that he's retiring, I'm coming after you for pushing him.

Dammit! I can't get the KLOS live stream to work! Is it working for anybody out there? Any idea when Steve's going on? I can drive to a location and pick the signal up in my car..

No matthew I'm not bothered at all.

I appreciate ALL that Perry has already given to me as fan, ALL the incredible music, the fantastic concerts, etc.. I even appreciate the times he done things for other fans that I wasn't even there for, like meeting the Perryville ladies at the star, and he's done alot of things for the fans.

The way I look at it Perry does NOT have to DO something for me, in order for me to keep being his fan. It is MORE about just appreciating HIM for what he has done, and if he does gives me more, I'm VERY HAPPY of course, I'd rather that it come from him, that HE WANTS to give to the fans, NOT ME demanding he give me more music OR else I'm gone as a fan. That's just not the type of person I am in general, so for me I graciously accept whatever he has to offer and appreciate it, because I know he doesn't HAVE to do anything at all for the fans.

Nah...Matt. He's just happy livin his life. It's not necessarily black or white. Why announce you're retiring if you don't know what's down the road...or what you'll feel like doing next. Considering he hasn't put anything out in 10 years (besides the reissues), he is still touching base with the fans and doing a few Q&A's. Don't get me wrong I get frustrated too sometimes, but I'm thankful for the ARs, Deanos...and all the other booters in the last 25 years that have captured all the stuff I have missed over the years. :D

Me too, Lori. I think it is wonderful how he connects with the fans & he CHOOSES to do this.
Of course, I, like all the fans, would love to hear him sing again, perform again, but he is the one doing it & if he has his reasons & wants to keep them to himself than he can't be blamed. Remember his perfectionism? If he is not happy with the songs or his voice or whatever he isn't gonna let it go "out there" forever.
And, I also appreciate that he does things when he is happy with them & not being pushed by anyone else (whether fans or record labels)...ultimately he is the one who has to live with it & who wouldn't want to be pleased with what they put forth?
Besides, SP is known for throwing his whole heart, soul & emotion into the music...and, for a lot of artists they need to feel that passion & inspiration to create again - when it feels right, they do.
I just don't want him to ever feel that this fan is requiring something from him in order for me to continue to be a fan...I am his devoted fan always & I don't think in terms of crumbs...hearing from him in any way, shape or form is a joy.

That's what I was hinting that you and I would probably both ask.

I didn't mean for anything that I said about this to sound as if I'm any less a fan than I've ever been. I just want to talk about something besides the reissues. I can't imagine that there could be that much to talk about regarding them. Lora said they weren't going to be the only subject so now that gives me some hope again. Maybe there is some real news for him to do this Q & A and the Uncle Joe interview.

Everyone keeps saying they want new music from Perry, HE DID ADD "new music" to the re-issues of his solo music, ( "Street Talk", FTLOSM, and The Greatest Hit +5). I've got mine, and I sure am enjoying the MUSIC VERY MUCH!!! :D :D

we don't know WHAT the Q&A is about. that's the point. WE ask the questions so it's basically about whatever WE want it to be about. if you want to know about new music, then ask him about new music.

With all due respect Matthew, maybe he really hasn't decided whether he wants to sing again or not. It's not an easy decision. In order to release a new CD, most record cos would push him to tour. That may not be something he wants to do. But he hasn't decided yet. He's still considering his options. He doesn't want to say he's done because he's not sure about that. I can relate on a much smaller scale. Something I did about a decade or so ago built a small following (very small). Some of those people still contact me today & ask if there's more coming. I don't know if there is. Probably not. I don't know if I want to pay the price again. But I can't say for sure yet. & if I ever do decide to do it again, I would like those people to support me. Is that playing games w/them? No. It's being honest about it.

This is wonderful news!. Maybe he will answer how he feels about about the disingenous remarks and acts perpetuated by JSS and Neal. You know that little crazy little Halloween wig cheap shot. Maybe he found it humorous that JSS looked more like Elvira than his intended subject. Somehow I am skeptical about this mutual admiration JSS is claiming.

It would be interesting to hear his feelings about the way Journey fans are represented on this site. You know, the denigration of women with porno pics and sleazy references to their body parts and weight? Deano and his band of worshipers and their tawdry gutter mouth talk and infantile celebration of frat boy/girl boozing escapades.

Wonder how he feels about the the REAL fans posting their sincere appreciation of his career and contribution, only to be ridiculed and degraded by "The King of the Board" and his mindless follower's lynch mob mentality?

Gee, will he grant Andrew an interview despite the fact Andrew provides and apparently supports a forum for unsubstantiated malicious gossip, and innuendo, spiteful depictions and insinuations concerning Steve's public and private life?

The question is why Lora or Cyndy give a disgusting degenerate grifter or this site the time of day? :( That's a mystery and question I would love for one or either of them to address.

Yes, it will be refreshing to hear from the creative force of Journey on whose coat tails JSS attempts to ride. At least we know Steve P. will respond to his fans with respect, class, and dignity :!: Yes, that will be lovely!

Alka-Seltzer anyone?

Disingenuous? Come on. I bet even SP laughed his ass off at that. It was seriously funny & cute as hell. Have u no sense of humor woman?

I guess u would lump me in as a card-carrying member of "Deano's band of worshippers". But please note I'm a HUGE SP fan. Dean knows that & respects me for it. He has NEVER once ridiculed me for it. Dean has given me a bunch of SP boots for crying out loud. He's a huge SP fan himself. Did u know that? He & I talked SP for AGES.

But u just don't get it, do u? I'm wasting my time responding to u. Wake up! Dean's a Journey fan. Maybe the biggest fan the band has.

If SP could, I think he'd tell u to get a life.
