Baltimore Rocked Tonight!

Postby daltonsdad » Sat Nov 11, 2006 3:35 pm

I must say I wrote a negative review of Journey & JSS after the Bristow, VA show this summer. Tonight we went hoping for a much better show AND DID WE EVER GET IT!

JSS I am highly impressed with the effort you gave this evening! The vocals were awesome. Stayed in range and belted out the tunes. The entire band acted as if they were having as much fun as we were! I doubt it man! But maybe that getting PAID to work for 90 minutes doing something they obviously absolutely love, thing helps the band to smile. The chemistry seems to be gelling very well. I also get the distinct feeling Neal has coached JSS and offered words of wisdom in how to go up the ladder or someone sure has. I say that because you could see the reaction of the band when JSS hit the song on the head, not the sky high pitch but high enough and firm enough to sound awesome! I saw he & Dean share a number of smiles back and forth when Soto went up the ladder, Ros & JC were also smiling. This is the polar opposite of the Bristow show when it seemed they were almost cringing.

Dean ripped the house down with his awesome vocals on Open Arms & Faithfully! Neal was on fire as usual. The band was rockin and having a great time as were the fans! My son and I had a great time and JSS I am now a believer man! Keep up the good wprk boys and the floor seeats were awesome. I hope we get in row 1-3 on your next trip through town.

Def Lep also was on tonight. They played with MUCH more energy than at Bristow! VIv & Phil smoked the strings & guitar necks and Rick the one armed bandit rocked the drums in great fashion. Sav & Joe were also enjoying themselves but Big JOE was having some moments with his voice. I must say he took breaks and NEVER quit trying his best and pulled those vocals out from deep within.

All in all, quite impressive! A wonderful time and worth every damn penny! I salute both bands and I think Mr Soto is a keeper! I know quite a change but those few months of experience and obvious vocal coaching have served Mr Soto well.

1:21 am just got back to my hotel after the show and a few yards of beer. Baltimore is alright. I think all of of us out-of-towners were treated like kings. I have new pics from tonight that I will post in the morning.

This Baltimore show was awesome. Jeff was really extra great tonight. I have seen 40 + Journey shows and tonight was by far the best of all regardless of who the singer is or was.

They finally have some decent graphics and video playing on the giant fuckin' screen that actually match the song's they are playing.

More to come.

P.S.

I have pics of Rockin Deano actually kissing a baby. He's not nearly as rotten and nasty as most might think. He's a very nice guy. I'm not gay but, I love that guy. Lula is more awesome. Great to meet you as well.

More later.

Lula and I are getting ready for a quick jaunt down to Washington DC, for monuments and Capitols vs Rangers.

Ed and Lori hopefully joining up later for puck.

PS, DCVader is the greatest. I love that guy.

Oh, the part you DIDN'T see was when he ate the baby, bones and all, after the pic was taken.
I'll vote for Deano, only if AR is his running mate!!!

Seriously, what a great, great, weekend this has been!!Even though I am a newbie on the board, myself and my girl were treated as longtime friends.
I truly feel as though I have made some really good friends!!
God, we need to do this every year. And yes,Deano and Lula are 2 of the coolest people you would ever want to meet.

Thanks again to everyone for the hospitality!!!

Yeah, stomach bug...right! If you're a lightweight, just say so. We're among friends here... 8)
I have NO IDEA what time we left. We were drinking the Grey Goose, and then we took a shot of the Cabo, and that was all she wrote for lovely Lula. I think I was pretty much a goner soon after that. We had to drive back down to B'more to our hotel. I was pretty sick by the end of the trip. I finally started feeling better around 3pm. Lula wasn't so lucky... :(

I didn't get really drunk, so that had nothing to do with it. I can handle a hangover, this was MUCH worse. Just feeling better now.
