First of all many people may be asking why on earth Manchester NH is even a stop on many tours these days. The answer is simple, its the arena, the verizon arena is simply one of the best indoor acoustic arenas in the nation, in the last 5 years i guess word spread fast , and now many bands come to see what it is all about. Of course being an hour from boston also allows a great pull of different fans as well, so that begin said the crowd was pretty damn good, but not nearly the excitement level i exeprienced at the Mansfield show near boston about 2 months ago. So i dont know what kind of voodoo the people put into this building, but as i mentioned, the acoustics are crazy, i wa sitting about 10 rows from the stage and walked several times around the entire arena, nearly every position i went to guitar , drum, jss vocals had unbelievable clarity and a great raw sound. My only complaint was JCain was drowned out a little, but thats not his fault. As usual the beginning of the show brought much excitement, i dont know how def leppard can even bear to watch the energy of JSS and the guys go out there, they set the bar pretty damn high, and as soon as they stepped up tonight you could feel the energy again. Of course maybe the energy had more to do with having 3 days off the tour coming up, but regardless they opened with a bang, vocals seering and instrumentals very sharpe, and not too loud. About a quarter in Deen grabs the spotlight, open arms, and as if he doesnt usually sound good, in this arena i was out in the bathroom and every note sounded like it was right in front of me, great song. Back to some rock, wheel in the sky, chain reaction, dont stop believin, all right on, again someone noted that Jeff sounded maybe a bit strained in the shows before this, but i gota say, sounded absolutely right on tonight, powerful and clear, kept hearing people in the crowd comparing to steve p, but im sure everyone is used to hearing that, id just smile, still think JSS is JSS and that is unique unbridled sound, its different plain and simple. Anyway, about 3/4 of the way through show JSS talks to the crowd, and they ask for everyones support in raising some money for a Police Office form Manchester NH who was shot , very cool of these guys to make an effort (def leppard didnt, asses) , they even auctioned off a autographed guitar to raise money and i just thought it was cool they did all that. Deen comes back on fro one last time, again very good. Get down near the end, encore , people going absolutely nuts during the break, good to see, people were simply crazy at this point. Come back on , Hes JSS got his Tom Brady Jersey on (and of course the pats loose today, that aint good) , rock out the house, seperate ways, people still going crazy, and sew up the show with some smiles and another great time in the northeast. Met up for a little afterwards, as usual JSS classy and cool, ross and neal recalled my big ass, i am 6'6 so i guess its hard to forget me, let me give one last shout out to all of the band members for a phenomenal show, and of course the ladies , you know who you are, that made the whole night that much more enjoyable, thanks all, and my next show will probably be over the pond in jolly england.
Cheers,
Jeremy-
