Again, its sad that the big score in so many lives is doing shots of Grey Goose with Jeff and Neal.

Maria, you are so bitter. For one, I have never denigrated any Bter; I used to have 'friends', I use that term loosely, over there. I was not making fun of any gathering; on the contrary, I thanked Gail for her generosity amd invitation to the HR gathering.

As for your comment regarding Dean, Ross, and Frank....are you kidding me?? I suppose you are still believing Frank is a saint and can do no wrong. Don't comment on personal relationships you know nothing about. Last time I checked, Ross was old enough to make his own choices, his own friends, and can certainly go where he chooses. Disrespect Frank, that's rich.

Here is a show review for you, minus a fashion report-
I was not feeling too great just as Neal wasn't, but the second I heard Neal's guitar all was good in Lula's world and he played like he was feeling just fine too.

As the rest of the guys took the stage the infectious energy began flowing. A highlight for me was Message of Love and I'll Be Alright Without You. I love hearing different songs in the setlist. Something that really stood out for me was how animated Jon was. He ran across to the other side of the stage with Jeff and played with the audience, very entertaining. Though the guys mentioned being "toast," their performance did not show that in the least. The band has a much needed renewal, imo, and I am very excited about the future of Journey music.
Until we meet again, may God
Hold you in the palm of his hand.

Yes, I know what you meant and you know that I know that that's what I meant. What I also meant is...so what? There are a handful people who post along your lines. Have you looked back in the archives to see how many people have either gone into LURKER mode or have simply left altogether?

Your "observation" was to try and indicate that it's a vocal minority that continually posts from the other side of the fence, when in fact, it's a pointless observation...unless you are willing to consider all those people who LURK and are afraid to post because they'll be shot down by a handful (the "majority") on this forum who don't like what they have to say. In either case, you making this observation is akin to the same complaints that you lodge against Monker when he makes his "observations."

I'm sure they're correct in feeling like that too.

It's right enough that if you don't think the way all the folk who are in about the band do then you're gonna be ridiculed. I'm sure there have been a good number of people who have stopped posting here because of that. I know I don't post nearly as much as I used to for that reason.

You don't say. The point I was making is that the ones on the opposite side of the fence from the majority get ridiculed non-stop here.

It doesn't have to be that way.

I think this "majority" you speak of is nothing more than a group of individuals who think alike and are very vocal in attempting to shout down others who do not think like them. They're certainly entitled to their opinion(s) as is the "minority." I think the "majority" should stop telling the "minority" to "shut up," "get a life," "move on," and all the rest of the arrogant, patronizing things they like to say when they have no answer for the issue at hand.

Great post Lula! Neal asked my friends & I at Shula's when he talked to us briefly if we liked the hotel (Wyndham) since we were staying there. We hadn't been able to check in yet, room wasn't ready, so we told him we weren't sure yet, lol. He said he was not pleased with his room, something about his allergies, so I'm sure he didn't feel well. He did however say the food was great! lol :)

I know someone already posted this, but no, nowhere in the ILAA package do they tell you you WILL meet the band, that's a bonus, & I'm very thankful they did meet with us the times we did the ILAA, because they didn't have to.

By giving them room to submit their opinions without fear of being jumped on. Here's an example of the type of PMs I have rec'd:

<b>"I usually keep to myself, since this board is over-run with bullies..."</b>

People like this would LIKE to post, but obviously prefer not to run the risk of being attacked for holding an opinion that goes against the "majority" opinion here.

Tell me, where does someone post about Journey who doesn't hold to the BT line of thought, or who doesn't necessarily hold to the "majority" opinion here on Melodicrock.com?

You can create your own message board to be run as you see fit. Pro-boards is a free service. I know, since I now have my own board. Nothing like here at MR and it's not supposed to be.

A board like mine can be created in a matter of minutes. Go do that and PM the complainers the location. Then you will have free reign to maintain the tone there anyway you see fit.

I'm aware of the fact that anyone can get a free board. I have no interest in owning/running/moderating any type of board. I guess I should have asked "Where does someone post (on an existing board) about Journey..."

My response was directed to NealIsGod when he asked "And we're supposed to know that how?" (because certain posters do not feel comfortable in posting here because they'll get slammed, so they remain as lurkers) and it was in the context of the perceived "majority" here that NealIsGod initially referenced. My question then, about where one posts about Journey when one doesn't necessarily tow the party line of either BT or here has more to do with making lurkers feel comfortable in posting, not having them leave so they can start their own board. I realize the latter is what some in the "majority" prefer, but I would rather have more people post here, than less.

You missed my point entirely, Dean. In fact, you missed it so badly, it's obvious that you don't even know what I'm talking about.

I did NOT say (or suggest or imply) that more people were leaving than staying. In fact, I did not even say that people ARE leaving. I said there are people in LURKER mode because they do not feel comfortable posting. AR suggested a new board where the "complainers" could go and post. I said I'd rather have MORE people post than leave, even though leaving is what some would prefer they do.

Not to me. Leaving is leaving. Lurking is watching and mabe one day, a post will result.

If the tone of the board was more inviting, then lurkers would be posters. If they were NOT here, then the chance of that happening would be nil. As long as they remain, even as lurkers, then they may wind up posting.
