Journey according to an old man

I know you came here to get your ten dollars for your birthday. Sorry, have to use that for illegal Celebrex and Journey vinyl and cassettes. Can't afford no CD player. Darmn social security doesn't pay enough. But, anyway, I have to talk about Journey.

"Trial By Fire" - Well, there's an album that could put me to sleep. It would too, if my damn colon would quit buggin' me. That's one lion I just can't tame. Wish it would quit buggin' me, but it won't. Just like all those kids who still think Journey will someday tour with Perry. "Message of Love" was an OK song, I guess. But it sounds too much like "Separate Ways" to me. It reminds me of my wife. She's dead now.

"Rased On Radio" - I was too, I think. My memory ain't quite like it used to be. But, I think we had radio way back then. I wish the damn Medicaid would pay for my medicine, maybe I could remember these things. This was when the band went all popppy and didn't need no drummer or bass player. All they needed was the Steve Perry. Yep, "Raised On Radio" was an OK album to follow Journey's "Street Talk" album. That's the way I remember it anyway. Damn Medicaid.

"Frontiers" - Domo Arigoto Mr. Elmo. The Eric Carman sang that song well. Too bad Styx copied the album cover. Damn Styx. "Faithfully" was a good song. Yep, we all understand faith...especialy when get to my age and are trying to get to heaven. I sing "Faithfully" at least once a day. Hope He is listening. Probably not though. Nobody cares what an old man says.

"Escape" - I always wondered what they were trying to escape from? Probably all those groupies in that video game. Video games were fun back then. Of course they could be today if I didn't have the arthritis. Damn joints. The family tells me I need my hip replaced. I keep telling them it's not a group decision. But, they won't listen. They'll probably send me away. Maybe then I'll need to escape and this album will make more sense. I'll probably just die though.

Don't remember much about the other albums. Alzheimer's ya know. I think they had something to do with some bug. I hate bugs. Nasty things. They keep eating all my cereal. Must be coming as part of the government food. Damn government, can't get anything right. They all should just be voted out of office.

I should shut up now. If I don't, somebody may say I don't have anything positive to say. Which, of course, I don't.

them albums was aloooooooooongg time ago and my memory is fading too.. not on the gerital yet though,, but this sounds like my grandfather of long ago ... just take out the word "journey" and add "Bob Wills",, same situation.... he didnt have raisin brand though,, had wheat puffs... in a bag.......

Frankly, I think you must be headin for the ole folks home and your hearing left you along time ago. In my opinion TBF they were evolving,the music is timeless and beautiful.And in your day you should've gotten new hearing aids cause you don't what you missed. Journey was maturing and simply going to a different direction.All the music is beautiful.Especially the strings that accompany them on several songs.You have to feel this music in your heart and soul, and apparently that is something you just don't have at the present time.So sorry for what you have missed, they have taught us to love,as along with feeling pain.But this is my opinion.
