Sheesh. Why don't u ask the guy how much he makes, how much his mortgage payment is, etc. That's a bit personal for him to answer on a forum, don't u think?

It's no more personal than knowing how many records a band sells. I'm just curious if it's an industry accepted practice. Not asking for the exact number of hits (although that would be an interesting number to see), just curious if he counts forum use as hits. I know others that do it...although it may be considered a gray or diluted number.
Btw, are you his Dad, or his attorney? Let him answer for himself.

Actually, no. The Forums are on a subdomain, so therfore are counted and tallied seperatley. But the bandwidth is included in my over all stats and running costs. I don't generally advertise on this forum, so the counter isn't of much relevance. Aside from the fact it gets hit a LOT!

I don't mind offering up stats for folks to see.

The forum takes in about 4000-4300 hits per day.

28,183 unique users for the month of October.
2,546,602 pages for an average of 4 pages per user.
68.81 GB of data/bandwidth.

Yeah, site hosting costs are 3 times what it used to be - but I'm hosted in Florida in a dedicated server facility, so the deal is better than it could be if I was hosted back here in OZ.

Right now I'm paying over US$300 per month, EVERY month for the whole site.

Drew I have a whopping 50 members on the Annex board.

Actually more than I ever thought I'd get, and probably more than I want......

May I suggest that some who haven't already, join MR extra. Andrew puts up some amazing rare material there. I have been a subscriber since it started and it is fantastic! Joining will not only get you some amazing music, but also will support this site as well!

Thank you Sir.
I'm an engineer, so I'm always interested in the internals (capacity, performance, etc.).
Thanks...

Thanks for the advert AR :)

And yes, I'll add some Journey stuff to MRX before the end of the year. Working on a definitive 1986 Westwood One show. 3 different versions out there, all with 1 extra track the others don't have.

MelodicRockXtra is the pay-to-enter members only area of the site which gets updated weekly with old out of print albums to download and various rarities and live concerts (soundboard when available).

I featured about 5 Journey shows earlier this year from accross the ages. I could re-feature those if it would inspire some new members.

I have about 10 memberships pending, but I do not recognize the names so I am not approving them. The board is meant to be a small little clique by design. Anyone trying to join needs to be a regular MR contributor.
