They all have the same goal, eat right and work out alot!!! I don't know if anyone else here watches it but the transformations are AMAZING!!! '24' is the ONLY show that I make a point of watching every week.....great show. A friend lent me the 'Lost' dvds and think I just might have to add that one too. Haven't seen the biggest loser yet.....but didn't I read somewhere that the guy that won and the girl that won before, ended up getting married?

My wife watches lost and I rag on her about it. After she finishes an episode, I say, "you still don't know what the hell is going on do you?"
As far as the biggest loser last year, yeah his name was Matt a former college wrestler who failed to make the olympics years ago. He ended up ballooning over 300 lbs. He got ripped and ended up winning the 250 grand, and he got the new hottie who came in 2nd, her name is suzy. Here's a link to a pic and story from people magazine, if you care to read it.

My wife spotted my first one also, small curly one, she spat it out and carried on suckin'

If this is your wish to stop the bashing well so be it but it seems like its a directive from Journey ( I hope I'm wrong because it's their problem not yours, they created a pretty fuckin' awful forum and now they want recognition from MR, come on Andrew stick to your guns and stop moderating every little BT thing)......I've not mentioned the other board for sometime now (just did, I know!), it's just not worth it as you get pulled up immediately, it's okay though for certain factions to come on over and bash this site, just doesn't make sense to me..Hell, yes it's childish but we use to have a good laugh about it ......how times have changed

Like I've said before the sooner the Augeri things goes away the better, we can all move on and the JSS hero worship can start over there, that'll keep them occupied for a few months  . I only hope nothin' happens to JSS in the future as it'll all start again, badges, candles, prayers :?

No more from me regards the subject, I respect your wishes but don't necessarily agree.....Listen can I kick off with Macca then, we get on but I'd like another run in with him..Macca, lets insult each other at the weekend and have a mad half hour...you game mate?

Pam, I'm so sorry for what you have endured. I know several people who have had the 'standard' gastric bypass, and each one has had a different result. Complications are very common, but it sounds like you hit the jackpot of complications. What lots of people don't realize is the psychological impact of both the obesity and the effects of the surgery. Many marriages don't survive it. So lots of people go from being happy fat people to miserable average people, and eventually regret the decision to have the surgery in the first place.

For what it's worth, I think you look great, and I want to thank you for sharing your story. While it's true that there are lots of slothful people in our society who get 'fat' because of lack of will power and exercise, it is also true that obesity can be a very dangerous medical condition that needs to be addressed. Someone very dear to me (some of you may have met him) has been overweight all his life, and also suffers from hypothyroidism, and I worry about him every day - the effects eventually on his heart, etc.

Love ya Pam!!!

I know exactly what you went through Sunshine. I lost a very dear sister-in-law this spring from the very complications that you've described. I'm glad you got through it and are doing well now. I also know about the maintenance regimen because I was a sort of support person for her when she got so down about it all. It's no fun. Kudos to you for sticking with it.

Dean,

I hope you can help patch things up between MR and BT. You know I've never been a big fan of the place, but all this bickering can't be good for the band. They need us all to stand behind them.

The women who post the BT style threads here, are essentially no different than those who are made fun of at the other place.

I'm a woman and I post on those "BT style threads" here. I am not undersexed but I can certainly appreciate a goodlooking man. What have we women here said that is so much grosser than the pictures of fat naked women sitting on scrawny men's faces?

W/all due respect Red, those are people who are just obese from overeating. But there are people who have medical conditions that cause them to be overweight. Hypothyroidism is a classic for that & something I know a lot about myself as I suffer from it. It wasn't until I fought a long battle w/doctors that I could get on the right meds & right dosage & during that time I had gained weight which didn't make me happy as I'd been skinny my whole life. While I felt lousy w/the accompanying muscle cramps, I wasn't able to work out. I ate very little & still gained weight. It took a lot of hard work after I got on the right meds to get back to a weight I was happy w/ (now, thanks to another illness, I could use a few pounds...)
Many docs are behind the times in treating hypothyroidism. I also have a friend who is overweight & in her case, it's from having a bad back for which she had surgery. She would dearly love to work out but her back condition is preventing her from doing so.

I think what Sunshine is saying is don't wash everyone w/the same brush. Sometimes it's not just overeating & lack of exercising that cause a person to be overweight.

JR, u are absolutely right in everything u said....I've had back surgery, knee surgery and shoulder surgery and it is not easy to exercise with any of those conditions...now having been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Disease and having to take Prednisone for months and months along with Methotrexate the weight has piled on...BUT, I still can laugh at the pics posted here b/c I take it with a grain of salt and also know that they are posted just for fun and not to belittle anyone..some people just do not have the same sense of humor as some of us here on MR and some of the MR regular posters also do not have the same sensibilities as others...if u don't like the pics just skip them...WE ARE NOT LAUGHING AT ANYONE IN PARTICULAR, AT LEAST I AM NOT!!!!!

As much as it sounds nice, uniting both web sites is impossible. You will never get rid of posts like Rusty Green makes - ridiculously sappy. He's got a bigger pussy then most of the women he sends running for kleenex. You'll never be rid of the stupid ass lyrics that people post and those friggin' 'Open Letters To The Gentlemen Of Journey' -- ugh!!!

They have turned BT into the pussified, good vibes only, overly moderated site that it has become. That's why MR is a breath of fresh air. Good luck Deano in trying to do this but eventually they will get to you again.

You know if you think before you speak or act you save a hell of alot of time in the apology department. Add to this, after a while apologizes get old real fast. You tend to find the same people apologizing over and over again.

Why do Rusty's posts here need to go? He does not insult anyone and he is not abusive - for crap sake the guy has even apologized to Deano for upsetting him!!!

Everybody here keeps talking about free speech - however, that is not what I have seen here.

One important thing about participating in "free speech" is that sometimes you are going to hear things you don't like.

Ya need to respect that part too -

I'm with you! Having had to be on steroids through my Chemo treatments, I went up 2 sizes in less than a MONTH! ( and believe me, chemo/food do not go together!) Not to say I'm what you all would call "fat", but I'm not as "svelt" I used to be.

The pictures don't bother me either. They're a joke people- if you don't like it, just move on.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, wine and chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "what a ride!"

Oh, should have mentioned the pics don't get to me either, esp. the ones where you can tell they posed for them, apparently didn't bother them to be photographed like that.

As for the others, well, I'm a nurse, there's not a whole hell of a lot that grosses us out, just ask the other nurses here, lol.
