Why did people throw things...........

Postby Deb » Wed Nov 22, 2006 10:40 am

Why in the hell would people throw things at a concert. Like Herbie said in the Frontiers and Beyond video....it can be dangerous up there on stage. "You have some guys that don't like their old lady's lusting after the band members." I mean are some guys that insecure that they would risk stopping a whole concert for thousands of people by throwing an object at a band member just because their gal thinks one of the them is hot? That's Rock & Roll folks. I mean, you don't "accidently" nail Neal in the head with a bottle or "accidently" nail Perry in the head with an object (watch).

Here is the song "Wheel in the Sky" that Perry gets hit in the head with an object (around the 3 1/2 minute mark).

http://download.yousendit.com/7065105C47F3E954

He all of sudden stops singing, band stops playing and he is very pissed off to put it mildly. Lucky he didn't cause a riot when the guy is pointed out and Perry says "hit him for me would ya". Big thanks to the person that shared this whole concert at Guitars......been looking for this one for eons. ROR, Greensboro NC. LOL, why does all this stuff happen in Greensboro? I have seen a concert dvd of Motley Crue, Nikki Sixx going off on a security guy that he saw hitting a fan, which caused the other fans around to start attacking the security guy.

I know, clothes I can see, but objects? Seems to have happened more in the 80s. In this version of Girl Can't Help it, when Steve and Neal are standing together, Neal has to duck from getting hit by a water bottle (around the 2 minute mark).

Also in a Maryland Departure era show somebody throws a shoe up on stage, why throw your running shoe? :?

Well, maybe he knew that somebody was going to eventualy fill Perry's shoes, so he would need a new pair? Maybe he wsa trying to give Perry the hint that he should run away from Journey as far as he could?

Hell, I was at this show............. Mountainaire in Angels Camp........... It was damn hot up there............ I wasn't that close to the stage to throw anything, and I wouldn't of either. I wonder how much alcohol was consumed, or the funny weed was smoked, to make someone do something like that.

This is where I have a problem with you, Monker. What the Hell is this? You watch the video. The guy can flatout entertain and sing. And people say his voice was shot in ROR days. Yeah, whatever.

Hell, I am in love with the guy here!

When I throw things in concert, it is because I want to be a part of the action! If throwing a water bottle or tennis show onstage gets the band to stop playing, then hey - I know I've made an impact. And knowing that means I'm a part of something special.

 Niggy your just unstoppable some days

Although I am often the loudest at a
concert and lose my voice for days
I am on the other end when it
comes to tossing shit about at a concert.
With the exception of the big beach ball
bouncing on by.
It's dangerous and people get hurt.
The only involvement I ever need is a
good show to partake in and the ones
on stage acknowledging the crowd.

Since I still play competitive baseball, it would be completely irresponsible for me to throw anything at a public event such as a concert. Unlike most, I could probably reach the stage from any spot in the venue just about. And I throw hard enough that I would most likely hurt someone pretty badly. So I take that responsibility very seriously and would never do such a thing.

The ladies throwing things on stage are welcome.

At the show in Baltimore, during Def Lep's show,a gal threw a huge white bra on stage and Joe Elliot picked it up saying "What the fuck is this?...Can you see what we have to put up with?" He was so upset.

You will not goad me into anything Niggy. :) Time to unite and not divide -as much as that would amuse some of you.

Back to the topic at hand, I've seen people throw batteries from the upper deck of a football stadium. Jerks thought it was funny, fortunately the police didn't. Someone could have been killed. A paper airplane from the upper deck is kind of fun. Beach balls and balloons at concerts are ok.

That's hilarious, Elliot gets upset about a bra thrown on stage..........then there is Perry, slow-mo's a bra thrown (during Where were you) on the Houston dvd. Some people have a sense of humour, different strokes for different folks I guess.
