I believe this one briefly starts off using his voice from the album (maybe to get him in the right pitch) and then he takes over completely.

After you compose yourself and want to laugh again at Meat's expense, peruse YouTube for his disastorous 100% live American Idol appearance.

U do realize that he's absolutely terrified in front of cameras right? After the AI appearance, he had to be carried off the stage & almost had a heart attack from the fright. He doesn't think he can tour anymore at all as he is suffering from such terrible stage fright. He's been seeing a shrink about it. He has talked about this publicly. I feel very sorry for him really.

Go see Hall & Oates live then. Trust me, he hits 'em just fine. He did have tight pants on tho...maybe not a kick in the nuts, but a squeeze when he danced?

I have never seen H&O put on a bad show. I'm a fan.

They were just on the Macy's Thanksgiving parade...didn't get to see them cause my girls are switching back & forth between that and Barbie & the 12 Princesses (or something like that). They're only interested in seeing Hannah Montana and Santa Clause!!!

People, MEATLOAF is 59 Darrl hall is 60 they sound great for being raisins. I remember people saying Sinatra sounded horrible in his late 50-60's its the aging process nothing they can do about it--for them to be performing is an amazing feat in itself now let them finish their songs so they can go home and get their ensure!Image

Could very well be a smokescreen.
Remember, Augeri attributed his vocal crappiness to the introductory pre-Perry sets in '05.
Said his body wasn't used to not hitting the stage and singing right off the bat.

At least that's what he told Andrew in his interview last year.

I see ur point. But I've heard Meat always had these issues & often fainted after leaving the stage back in the day. That was being said yrs ago, btw.

Jrox did you ever See Meatloaf on Storytellers years back? He may have been frightened, but THEN, he could hit the notes and not have a problem, like he has this year. I think it was around the time BOOH2 came out.

No I didn't. But I know someone very well who wrote for both of Meat's last 2 albums & played on one of the songs. I have heard raw recordings of those sessions. He said Meat's voice is still incredible & after I listened, I agreed (even tho I wasn't nuts about the songs). I'm not a huge Meat Loaf fan btw. I loved the 1st BOOH. I haven't really liked much since then. I'm just pointing out what I've heard w/my own ears.

I hear ya, and obviously TV and recording studios have help with the finished product that we hear. He just didn't seem TOO un-easy, unless it took like 4 hours to get through an hour long show, because of his fright. Who knows?

I know when I was on TV as a child, it took much longer, and MUCH patience to put out a half hour show. Then again, I wasn't afraid of the camera, and I was never famous outside of my family (or my own head?)

I'm like you, loved #1, 3nd was ok, thrid, not wild abotu what I've heard so far. Doubt i'd go to see him live IF it were a chance.

Was that the one where he did "Couldn't Have Said It Better"? If so, then yes, it took a while to shoot.
