Even though my children have driven me halfway insane...and I'm quite sure they'll finish the job...I wouldn't trade them for anything in the World.

Congrats!

And just my $.02...I think Journey would be a cool name for a little girl. 8)

Spoken like a true parent. Also, as far as the name goes...If my wife had a girl, her name would have been Journi (I liked the I at the end instead of the EY). I chose that name for a little girl, many years ago. I didn't choose the name because of the band (even though my wife suggestedm otherwise). I chose it because life is a Journey, and I have a propensity for being a rather philosophical guy, so it would have worked well. At this point, we didn't have a girl, so the name is put on the shelf for one more try :D

is makin' em.

Nope, it's deliverin' em!! (I am a birth junkie!!!!) Since the entire 40 week pregnancy is technically spent "making" them, I am sure that many women will not agree that the best part is makin' em!!

Agreed, lol. Never made it to 40 weeks though with mine, 38 with #1, 37 with #2. Thank God!! lol

Congrats.

You want to argue this?

Making them:

Ok, bending your lady over the desk at work....
Her legs in the air
Her riding you like a jockey
you shooting white gold

ALL good.

Delivering:

FAS babies
deformity
two headed babies

None good

Congrats to you both. I like John's suggestion of Journi for a girl... how about Jeff Scott for a boy?

Oh, don't start with me
Delivering: labor for several hours, assisting mother to different positions to help ease the pain or maybe giving IV pain meds or an epidural, getting her in to the tub, back massage, birthing ball.......Fetal Heart monitoring and interpreting, intervention as necesary. Vag exams, cervical dilitation and effacement, fetal head descent. Second stage labor, pushing, changing positions to push to allow baby to come down into pelvis easier. Stretching of perineum to avoid tearing, hiding the scissors from the doctor so they don't cut an episiotomy.....or maybe, delivering the baby myself because the doctor didn't hurry fast enough, handing the dad the scissors to cut the cord, drying and stimulating the baby to breathe, resusitation as necessary. And then there are the cases where there are CRASH C-sections that really get the blood pumping but I better not talk about that or I will get so excited I will go and work a night shift this weekend to get all of this out of my system!!!!!!!!
