Ok now that this has taken a turn for the worst, lets get back to the subject that they are driving me crazy with this stalling! My goodness this is must be like a divorce and the lawyers are deciding who gets the kids and how much child support. Andrew I know you keep saying soon but this is crazy!

One word: NO.

No, Steve Augeri is not fully recovered or no the band is not going to stick with him or no, he didn't give the band eight years of his life or.... no things are not straight forward?

All of the above.

Get a grip please. It's not hush money. It's his share of the corp money. That's all. That has to be negotiated & settled. Stop making a mountain out of a molehill.

Good analogy. Just like any divorce or any partnership dissolution in any business. It's rarely quick & easy unless someone gives in.

I still have a hard time believing they made him an equal partner and there is more than severance and a small percentage of the take from the tour being negotiated. What the hell were they thinking?

Unwash your brain and think before you post! You Deanophiles have the same programmed response. Your revered stool pigeon took the first shot at Augeri. And NO, it isn't just about his share of the take. There is also a gag order as well as other legalities on the table. The molehill became a mountain in part due to the "insider's" loose lips. If he would check his gargantuan ego at the keyboard it might facilitate civil negotiations.

I am not a Deanophile. He & I have disagreed on this board. Look it up. I do like Dean a lot tho b/c I got to know him as a person. However, I think for myself & I always think before I post. Long before I knew that Dean & this board even existed, I heard about Augeri lipping. It wasn't Dean's "loose lips" or anyone else's that put this info out there. It was just obvious as the nose on Perry's face.

If u gave 2 minutes of thought to ur posts, u would realize that any "gag order" benefits Augeri even more than it benefits Journey. After all, he's the one who actually lipped. Think about it. The band replaced him & are singing live. He will always be the singer who resorted to tapes. I'm sure he doesn't want that info spread out any more widely than it already is.

There is NO gag order. If there was, Steve A would not hasve replied to my e-mail this week.

However, of course no one is talking, as it is a complex situation and no one wants to say anything or cause a leak until the official word is delivered.

Sometimes, gag orders do not prohibit people from responding (in this case to an e-mail), rather they do not allow people to respond until the response is first "OK'd" by a lawyer or team of lawyers.

Even if there was a gag order it might not stop him e-mailing anyone. E-mails aren't as public as this is, provided they're kept private by the person who gets them.

But if Drew says there's no gag order I'll take his word for it.

I agree they're probably taking this long cos of legal stuff. But to be honest I don't really care anymore. Steve ain't comin back and that's that. I'm just hanging around a wee bit (mostly reading but not posting) for the final word. And once the final word's in I doubt I'll really be on this site at all.

Andrew,

Does it seem to you the official statement is a go whenever management chooses, or does it seem some things still aren't 'ironed' out yet? Thanks as always for the info. and the job you do. 8)

Citygirl, may I ask why you won't be here? Not willing to give Journey with JSS a chance, or just not interested anymore?

Yeah, the SPIN is getting really tiresome, even the #1 poster on this site has recycled his material so many times on here that the hamster died.
Its becoming very obvious that there is no news coming, just more concert dates announced and more swag for sale.

Honestly? The second one.

This has gone on so long I've pretty much lost interest in it. Like I said, just hanging around for the final word to see how it ends. Just for the record, I've seen Jeff live 5 times in the past and I like Talisman a lot.

I might not agree with the way things have gone where this situation is concerned, but I don't really give it much thought anymore except when I occasionally log on here.

I take it that means they're not going to address the issue and it'll be more a case of, "Steve has decided to step down/is unable to continue due to vocal issues and we've now got a great new singer," type of announcement.

That's what I thought would happen anyway, just wondering if that's what you meant.

The band doesn't owe anyone anything. They will do want they want to do, and you will buy it or you won't. That annoucement doesn't have to come out anytime soon. Other than the few hardcores here, the world isn't standing still waiting on it.
