Elson.
JSS have you ever worked w/ KevCat in the studio? From an outsider perspective I think he brings out the best in Schon/Cain.

Elson worked with Perry, Cain and Schon. He hasn't shown much since then (as far as I know). Lange is a heavyweight NOW, which would bring tremendous support from a label...something Elson can't offer.
saint John wrote:Journey needs Mutt Lange. He "gets it," not to mention everything he touches turns platinum. He seems to able to egt the best out of his artists. Although a bit dated, I watched the movie about Def Leppard and it chronicled the influence he had on Hysteria, the album. From then, til now, he just has an ear for what "Pop culture" wants to hear. Couple that with the talent Journey has in its current lineup and you have a band that CAN be musically relevant again. Radiopaly may also bring back some of the disenfranchised fans who've been on the sidelines for quite some time. Not to mention that they can, for the first time in years, go and do a promotional blitz (TV shows like Leno, Letterman...and morning shows like "Today").

If it's between getting a good hard rocking record like Generations, rated a 91 on a 100 scale by the CEO here, with Elson at the helm or a Shirley-helmed snoozefest like the majority of TBF and getting on a big label, I'll take the real rock effort that a JSS included Elson produced album will yield.
More than just me thought the collaboration with Elson on Gens yielded a better record than TBF or even Arrival (though I know Arrival got a 99 from Andrew).
Red13JoePa wrote:Views of the sound on Generations ran the gamut. Lot of others, myself included thought it sounded less muffled/muddy than Arrival. Clearer.
Did Morelli suck before or after he set a Penn State record for completions?
